Is it mold growing on my north facing wall?

All right, we've got a good question here from. Oh, I'm skipping questions. All right, let's go with Michelle's question. And it is, is mold the same as damp patches on a north facing wall? So, yes, you will see that fungus does grow on the north side of things outside, including walls, roofs and trees. That's why if you lose your compass or you're lost in a bush, you can look at which side of the tree the fungus is growing on, and it's usually on the north side because that south sun is not hitting and drying that out and therefore the fungus grows there. And that's the same reason why we have it on our roofs and on our walls on the north side, because they don't get dry. Which is a reason why when we have water spill or damage in our house, we say get it dry within, you know, 24, 36 hours, otherwise you run the risk of it turning into mold or mold growing in that location. So it's mold the same as damp patches on a north facing wall. So mold is a fungus. So if you have fungus growing there, that could be a mold and something that you. And I hope you're talking about the outside of a house here. I'm sure you are. It's usually not a problem there. But it's a lot easier to clean when it's on the outside because you're not adding water to a organic material like paper or wood or wallpaper or something. Right. So if it's the outside of your house and it's siding or brick, you'll see it a lot more on siding. But you can buy like simple green or different detergents that you'd make in a five gallon bucket and get a big brush on a handle and wash it all off, spray it down. But usually that's a fairly safe process. You're outside. But I hope that helps. And that's absolutely why you're going to see that on the north.
