Matt Kelly explains why urine mycotoxin tests come back negative even with mold exposure and symptoms. Chronic patients may not be shedding toxins in urine. He recommends a serum mycotoxin antibody blood test and an ERMI home test to get a clearer picture of what's happening.
Yvonne is asking what to do when your mycotoxin test is negative and you have all the symptoms and mold exposure. Okay, that is very curious. If you're, if it's negative, you have the symptoms and mold exposure. Well, I guess it means that your test likely did not pick up the mycotoxins we're looking for because your body is in a chronic state and not eliminating. Well, so this is when I would say now's the time to do the serum mycotoxin antibody test. So that's a blood test and it's measuring antibodies against mycotoxins as opposed to looking for mycotoxins or metabolites in the urine, which is dependent on kidney and liver and elimination. This one is taking right from blood so that bypasses elimination and detoxification capabilities and goes right to antibody production. So that's Dr. Campbell's lab, mymicolab.com and while most people are fine with urine, if someone gets too chronic, they can do that test and it can show us what we're looking for. So that's what I would say could very well be happening. If you have all the symptoms of mold exposure, I would also tell you to do an URMI on your home if you haven't done that yet, to see which molds are in your home. You know, water damage, molds versus common molds, toxigenic molds versus, you know, allergenic or pathogenic molds, because it's the toxinic molds that can create and emit mycotoxins under the proper conditions. So that's, that's where I'd start. I test your body with my micro lab, I test the home with the ermi and try to get an updated, bigger, better picture of what's going on. Alright, I hope that helps.
