Matt Kelly compares three urine mycotoxin labs. Vibrant tests 29 mycotoxins and has the best sensitivity, but Mosaic works better for kids and catches higher mycophenolic acid levels. Kelly avoids RealTime because of its reporting format and how it groups trichothecenes.
Questions this video answers
~29 mycotoxins.
About 11 (speaker says Mosaic is working on upgrading).
About 16 (speaker says 'maybe 16 or so').
Mosaic/Great Plains provides a pediatric collection bag; Vibrant does not.
Vibrant (preferred for sensitivity and a larger panel), with Mosaic used in specific cases; the speaker does not use RealTime.

Karen's asking a question about the different urine mycotoxin labs. Which is the most reliable? Great Plains, Real time or Vibrant? And that's a great question. And I use Great Plains, which is now Mosaic. I use Mosaic and Vibrant. I use Mosaic for two things. If it's a child and we need the pediatric collection bag, because Vibrant doesn't send that. And I also use Mosaic if someone has high aspergillus or, sorry, penicillium brevicompactam, and has high mycophenolic acid. Because I've seen very differing results between Mosaic and Vibrant on mycophenolic acid. And I think Mosaic is far more sensitive or they're way off. There's a giant difference. And Mosaic is way higher compared to Vibrant on mycophenolic acid. I always prefer Vibrant because they have amazing technology, which is super sensitive. And you never get a zero on a mycotoxin. Like it tells you you've got. You never get a zero. You got this, this, this, this, right? So because it's so sensitive, it's measuring right down, even small amounts. Whereas with Vibrant or Mosaic, which is Great Plains, I know this is confusing. During their transition, you just get a zero and nobody's got zero. It's very hard, very unlikely that you actually have zero. So I use Vibrant also because they check for 29 mycotoxins. Right now I know Mosaic's working on upgrading theirs. Right now they're at like 11 and real times, maybe 16 or so. So if you have the option of measuring poisons in your body when you opt for the higher one. And that's why I use that with people, with the exceptions that I just noted. Like I said, Mosaic is upgrading theirs. Hopefully soon they'll be caught up to Vibrant. Like I said, microphenolic acid is when I switched Mosaic, I don't use real time. I know some people like real time. I don't like their I don't like their results page. I don't like how they group their tricothecine mycotoxins that you can't see individually what they're measuring at. Don't care for it at all. Is it a good lab? I'm sure it is. I just don't use it because I like the other ones. Processes a lot better. With Vibrant being the best. Is any test perfect? No. Like I said, Vibrant's Michael Phenolic. I don't trust it as much as Mosaics, but there's a lot of things I don't like about real time. So to me Vibrant is the clear winner. Number one Mosaic very well could be tied with them when they upgrade and get the numbers to match. But at 11 and I won't do it unless someone's got Mosaic. I mean Mosaic has mycophenolic acid pediatric collection bag or if someone just doesn't have the budget. We can get Mosaic cheaper sometimes so that's nice. Karen, I don't know if this was more confusing or not. Hopefully it helps make it a little more clear for you. I love Vibrant. If you have mycophenolic acid or need the pediatric bag, go Mosaic. Thirdly, I don't use real time. Some people like it. I don't like the graphing and the reporting and the group mycotoxins. Hope that helps.
