Transforming Chaos to Success: Trev Buccieri’s Journey to Streamlined Business Focus and Growth

In this interview, host Matt talks with Trev Buccieri, owner of the Stay Young Center for Women in Buffalo, NY. Trev shares his evolution from running eight gyms and a stem‑cell business—ultimately crashing under over‑expansion—to founding a medically guided weight‑loss and targeted fat‑loss clinic that uses laser‑lipo and HIFEM technology. He explains how a lack of a clear beachhead offer, unfocused messaging, and “shiny‑object syndrome” left his business chaotic and his personal life in a constant fight‑or‑flight state. By narrowing his market to women over 30 seeking weight loss and body reshaping, creating a simple, risk‑free introductory offer (a free $147 consultation with a $50 results guarantee), and restructuring his leadership (taking on a CEO role while appointing a Chief Sales Officer and an operations manager), Trev streamlined his operations. The clinic now generates $150‑$175 K per month, with plans to open a high‑margin Denver location and replicate the model across multiple satellite sites. He emphasizes the importance of coaching and mentorship—crediting Matt’s Mavericks program for his turnaround—and urges other practitioners to invest in similar guidance to accelerate growth.

Hey everybody, I want you to say a big hello to Trev Buccieri. Trev, wave hello to everybody here in Dallas.
How's it going, everyone?
Trevor is in Buffalo, New York. We got Trevor to put a sport coat on for you all today. Like, I don't— I've known Trevor for 2 and a half years, brother. I think that's the first time I've ever seen you with a sport coat on. I'm impressed. I'm impressed.
There's a first time for everything, my friend.
Yeah, no collar though, but at least you're— you got that going, so that's great. So we just got done talking about one message, one market, one offer, the beachhead. And the reason why I have Trevor here is, you know, with our event, we are doing case studies on this, and Trevor is the absolute epitome of the beachhead. So we're going to talk about that today, about application of that and all that great stuff. But before we do that, Trevor, why don't you tell everyone— obviously they know who you are, but tell everyone who you are, where you're located, and what you do.
Absolutely. So my name is Trev Buccieri. I'm in Buffalo, New York, and I own a practice called the Stay Young Center for Women. And we do medically guided weight loss. We do targeted fat loss, spot reduction for trouble areas like the midsection, the thighs, and the upper arms using laser lipo technology and HIFEM technology. That's essentially what we do is weight loss and targeted fat loss.
And for the record, how long have you been a doctor?
Actually, not yet. Zero years. Zero days.
Right. The reason why I say that is, again, I don't want anybody to think like we're saying, oh, Trevor's a doc. Trevor's not a doctor. But how much did you know about medicine before you got into this space? Let's talk about that. Let's talk about where you started.
So, my background is nutrition. So, I'm a certified nutritionist and also exercise physiology. So, knew the sciences and the anatomies, and I was very into it and intrigued by it. Loved sciences. Other than delving into that for literally 25 years previous to this, I knew stem cells A bit because you know as we'll probably talk about my gyms crashed and that was one of the avenues that I went. I started a stem cell business with the the follow-up system that I created and we were able to blow up. So I really needed to learn a lot about a lot in a very short period of time. So very surface area. I knew nothing about medicine. Let's be serious.
Yeah. So what was the biggest challenge that you were facing before we met?
Yeah. So my businesses had just crashed. I owned eight gyms and we had just franchised and we were. Growing very, very quickly. In hindsight, I grew too quickly and I choked myself. That was a huge challenge that was going on, and I was spinning, you know. And I had just opened up my women's center, so I knew, like, I love weight loss transformation, I'm good at that. I opened that, but not really with the inkling of, yeah, this is it. I hadn't fully committed to it, so I just opened that up a couple months prior to meeting you. Another challenge I was having, man, I did not have a beachhead offer. I wasn't creating an evergreen no-brainer. My messaging wasn't on point. I wasn't honing into my avatar. I hadn't really clearly engaged in that. I didn't understand what their goals are. I didn't understand the language that they wanted to hear. I didn't have signature solutions, which is a game changer. A lot of things, man. I was too stretched and also bright shiny object syndrome.
Yeah. So what did that do to your business, to your personal life?
Exactly what you could guess. I mean, just chaos. I'd say that I was very scattered. I wasn't present. Personally, I always felt like I had so much on the plate. I mean, shoot, I mean, there's only so many plates that you can spin, and we all think that we can handle more, but we're not handling them well. So professionally, it was very unorganized. I would say chaotic, stressful. I would definitely just say, you know, in terms of a parasympathetic and sympathetic state, I was in a sympathetic state. I was definitely fight or flight.
So what's life— what's life like now? Take us to today. What's life like today?
It's more simplified. It's more focused. It's more exciting, it's more fulfilling. I have much more clarity of vision. I can actually see where I'm going because I'm more concentrated in my efforts and in my focus. And it's a lot more fun to be able to have an idea and really, you know, say, sit there in front of the whiteboard and I'll do this. And I'm sure we all do this. And maybe you get a couple hours in and you get so far, you know, but what was happening before was I would leave the whiteboard and then I'd be onto one of the other 6 businesses that I'm working on at that particular time. So it's kind of like I'm not really getting the actual subconscious mind involved, whereas now— Because I'm focused, I'll get these light bulbs that just happen randomly throughout the night or the next day or wherever it may be because my mind is focused. It's simplified in that regard. What's the business doing?
What are you guys doing? Tell us what the business looks like today. What are the revenues like? What's a typical day for you?
The business is doing between like the $150,000 to $175,000 range per month. So I guess we're on par to do about $1.8-ish, which is fantastic. You know, it really is. And it's a good margin business. You know, our business that we have, our current location in Buffalo, we hold a little bit more overhead because I'm carrying some of my debt, you know, and all transparency on that as well, or else the margins will be higher. But our newest Denver location, which we're cracking down on now, is going to be a profit machine. So that's going to be running with about 50% margins, even at just $100K. And everything else is just, just profit from there. And the expansion plan is to open up more of these satellite locations. Our concentration right now is on power plants.
Okay.
popping that multi-location, not virtual model, but we're managing it virtually. So really concentrating on getting that model down before we expand to other opportunities with that. So in terms of the actual leadership structure, a big thing that we've been concentrated on now is diversifying our roles, splitting our roles to— whereas now I have a person who was really doing a lot of the same stuff I was doing. We were kind of on repeat. This was a huge takeaway, you know, I got from one of our discussions was now she's the actual director of sales. She's actually like Chief Sales Officer. I've taken like the CEO role of things, and now we, we have a manager who's really taking care of the operations. And I'll tell you, from my standpoint, it's been very refreshing because again, I have more space to think and create and improve.
So let's talk about your offer. Tell everybody what your offer is. When we talk about, you know, the ONEs— one message, one market, one offer— who's your target customer? Who are you targeting?
Yeah, so women over 30 who want to lose weight, reshape their midsection, thighs, and upper arms, have more energy, and love the way they look and feel. That's essentially my audience.
All right, great. And what are your ads like? What's your message in the marketplace? Is it just that? Like, what do your ads do? What do they say? What's the offer that gets them in the door to get them?
Yeah, it's in the United States, body dissatisfaction is between 69 and 84% of all women. So it's really going out to that audience. So if the messaging is more along the lines of, you know, are you a woman over 30 who wants to lose weight, who wants to reshape their midsection, their thighs, and their upper arms, have more energy and love the way you look and feel? That's the The gearing of the messaging. And the offer is this, you know, it's like normally our introductory treatment and goals consultation is $147, but for a limited time you get it free. Plus, if we don't deliver you measurable results on the spot, we'll actually write you a check for $50 right then and there for your time. That's how much we believe in what we do.
How many $50 checks have you written?
None. Not one.
Yeah, the, that power of that offer. A lot of times, you know, people are like, oh well, Matt, you know, your offer with the ED Clinic That was great. And what Trevor's doing is, you know, that's great for him. But what would you say to someone who's in the orthobiologic space when they say, well, we can't create an offer like that? What would you tell them?
I would say that you haven't simplified enough. You haven't taken away enough is what I would say. You know, I would just say that we haven't dug deep enough. We haven't done enough work to it. Although jack of all trades and master of none is kind of like cliché, that was what was happening to me, you know? So I was trying to be good in too many things, too many offerings, but I was subpar in all of them. So therefore my message wasn't clear, my audience wasn't clear, my avatar wasn't clear, my offer was not good. It wasn't the same offer that I'm doing right now.
Yeah, it's become really simplified, right? What's it like with that one offer? Like, how predictable is your business today?
Now I've been able to just expand my visual horizon with my concentrated niche. Since I really committed to that, I'm able to give bigger concepts more space. I've really learned to take my specialization and really just create messaging and offers that captures the audience who most likely are interested in one or many of my actual offerings as well. So that's a big thing as well, is I've taken my main offering and I said, well, if they like this, what else would they be interested in? And I started filling my facility with these other services that are great, you know, secondary and tertiary and quaternary offerings that I can actually cross-market as well. So the concentration has given me time to do that and work on my leadership and work on the structure of the company like we had just talked about previously.
So, and now imagine having 10 locations doing $1.8 million a year. What is that, $18 million? That's not too bad. That'd be all right. And I know the profits on that are pretty good. I know you and I talk about your profits all the time. So last question for you, and then I'll let you go. What would you say, you know, in a little while later on today or tomorrow, we'll have an opportunity for people to be able to work with us more closely. What would you tell people if they were considering that?
Yeah, you know, I've had many coaches and mentors in my life. And I'll say that if you're operating without one, that investment is, I believe, a necessity if you truly want to take your business and revenues and your life to the next level, period. Period. And I'll say that since signing up with Matt, with Mavericks, there hasn't been a day since I signed up that I wouldn't sign up again. I've received so much value from professionally, personally, from a friendship standpoint. It's exactly what I was looking for. I couldn't recommend it more, you know? So if you have a practice and you're stuck with your revenues, with your goals, you need to sign up. At the end of the day, that's what I would say because I've seen this group grow. and the people who are involved in this group. It is a wealth of knowledge and a group at a table that you wanna be involved with.
Thanks, Trevor. I appreciate it. Well, I'd like to say I know you're a busy guy, but actually I know you're not. You probably just got back from playing hockey or something like that. I'm not gonna sit here and tell you that he's one of these busy CEOs that can't fit anything in. Actually, Trevor's got a pretty laid-back schedule. It's not nuts like what a lot of you are experiencing. So I appreciate it, Trevor. Thanks so much for coming and sharing. Appreciate it, man.
Take care, everyone. We'll see you soon. All right.
