Emotions aren’t the enemy They’re the meeting place #faith #travel #testimony #jesus #healingjourney

A short faith-based spoken reflection in which a single speaker encourages emotional honesty and reframes emotions as signs that something matters, not proof of brokenness. The speaker references Hebrew terms—'lev' (heart/inner world), 'shalom' (wholeness), and 'refua' (healing/beginning)—and connects emotional processing to spiritual healing, urging listeners to check in with others during the holiday season and not to shame or avoid feelings.

All right. A little Delta Sky Club TED Talk hour. I want to talk about something that we kind of don't talk about growing up, and that is, what do we do with our emotions? And sometimes emotions scare people. But I just want to say most of us have learned, like, one or two ways of how to handle our emotions. And that was either, like, we shut it down, and we just shut it down. Nope. Not feeling that because we're scared, or we think it'll push. Or we just, like, we'll push people away, or we just kind of pretend like everything's fine, like, I'm fine. We're fine. Everything's fine. Fine. Because we just don't want to inconvenience anyone. And we also don't know, like, what to do with them. But, like, literally, like, here's the thing. Emotions aren't proof that something is wrong with you. And I want to say that for everyone. It does not mean that something's wrong with you. They're proof that something matters to you. That's the big thing. It's something that matters to you. And scripture uses the word love. It's L, E, V. This is a Hebrew word that I just learned. And it talks about our heart. It's our inner world. It's not just our feelings. And God cares deeply about the love, and. And he never asks you to numb it. This one, like, really helped me a lot. It's another Hebrew word. It's called shalom. You know, we've heard that around a little bit if you're around the Christian circle. And it does not mean I don't feel anything. It actually means wholeness. And it means being held in the middle of everything. So that means you don't have to fake it. Like, God literally holds you in every emotion. And so, like, are you feeling a lot right now? It's a holiday season. Like, check in, people. Check in with your people. And if you are feeling a lot, I just want to say you're not weak. It really just means you are human. You're human. And sometimes the most healing thing we can do is just admit what's going on inside. Even though it's scary, we just need to admit it. And we're like, yeah, like, that hurt. Like, yeah, that mattered. Yeah, I'm still processing it and stuff. And it is okay to still be processing things. And here's the truth. And it's something that I've learned, that emotions do not destroy you. But I'll tell you one thing. When you avoid them, they do. God doesn't bypass what you feel like. He literally meets you in it. He meets you right there. And that's actually the beginning of healing. And there's a Hebrew word for healing called refua. And that means to begin. That means where we begin to heal. And so don't be ashamed of what comes up. Don't fear feeling. Just let it be. Just let your love, your inner world, just let it be honest. Because that's where shalom starts. That's where wholeness starts. That's where peace starts. And I hope that you guys all have a great holiday and I gotta go catch this plane.
