I spent a long time asking God to change my circumstances. Overthrow this. Fix that. Move faster. But scripture doesn't say peace will force its way in. It says, let. Let the peace of Christ rule. Which means peace only governs what I stopped trying to control. I didn't lose control. I released it. I stopped asking God to rule everything around me while gripping everything inside of me. And that's when peace didn't just visit. It stayed. Not because got easier, but because I finally surrendered the throne.
