Businesses need to optimize for Answer Engine Optimization now, focusing on structured data and trust signals, because LLM platforms will eventually sell sponsored recommendations. I manage over $10 million a month in Google Ads as a premier partner. My agency's built on it, my personal brand's built on it, and I'm in the top 1% globally on the Upwork platform. OpenAI just launched something that's going to force every brand to rethink how customers find them. Google's not dying, and this news isn't exactly new. But their monopoly on buyer intent may well have just cracked. And most advertisers are literally sleeping at the wheel. This isn't scaremongering. This isn't about Google dying. It's about market share hemorrhaging faster than anyone's admitting. I'll show you the psychological shift happening right now. Your website needs to speak to AI before humans and the billion dollar ad model that's coming whether you're ready or not. So guys, listen, no matter what the doomers say, this is what the doomers get wrong. Google is not going anywhere. But that doesn't mean they're going to keep 92% market share now, does it? Google equals longevity and infrastructure. They've got 25 years of trust, enterprise contracts, and the richest data set on earth. But market share erodes fast. Just ask Internet explorer. In 2003, they had 95% market share. By 2012, 27%. As it stands today, practically next to nothing. The trust erosion is psychological. People are tired of sponsored clutter chat. GBT feels cleaner, it feels newer. And that feeling compounds. Okay, Google share is going to slowly bleed to OpenAI perplexity, Claude, etc. And when you've managed 10 million per month in Google Ad, spend hundreds of millions over the years, you start seeing patterns most people miss. And the pattern here, buyer intent is fracturing. It's not one place anymore. If the buyer intent is splitting. Your website strategy just became dangerously outdated. And like I said before, this isn't new. I've been implementing this for my clients from an SEO perspective consistently. But if your site isn't optimized for AI engines, you're invisible in the fastest growing search channel on earth. And that is not a good thing. Okay? AO Answer engine optimization. It's not about keywords anymore. It's about how LLMs pass trust and cite you. The new ranking factors, structured data schema, markup authority signals, trustpilot, Reddit mentions, expert reviews, content clarity. Right? From an LLM perspective, they prefer concise, well cited answers. They don't prefer how well your H tags are optimized on the site. Okay, so old SEO ranked number one on Google for best running shoes New AEO gets cited by Chat GPT when someone asks what running shoes do experts recommend? Okay, I've been a top 1% Upwork freelancer for years. The clients who win, they're not chasing Google's algorithm anymore. They're building trust systems that AI engines want to reference. But here's the part that nobody's talking about yet. This ad free utopia, it is not going to last. OpenAI isn't a charity. The paid ad model is coming and it's going to be a direct competitor to Google Ads across all of them. Claude, ChatGPT, etc. Why is monetization inevitable? OpenAI burned 5 billion in compute costs in 2024. All investor backed Google makes 200 billion a year from ads. OpenAI and everybody else sees that free models are customer acquisition. Paid placements are the end game. Okay, what it'll look like my prediction Sponsored recommendations inside of Chat GPT featured by our partners Premium placements in answer hierarchies paper citation models for brands for example the strategic implications of this brands optimizing for AEO now will have organic authority when paid placements launch. But those await will be paying 10 times for the visibility they could have earned through authority layer. You know optimization. I run a Google Premier partner agency. We've seen this movie before. The platforms that start organic and pure always monetize. The winners are the ones who build authority before the auction starts and they are prepared for it. Okay and guys look, I get it. It can be quite appealing to look at the new shiny thing. But this isn't Google or ChatGPT. This is a two pillar system and you need both, right? Businesses need both. Google Ads, paid velocity, instant traffic, instant testing, instant revenue. It is still the fastest way to scale a validated offer pillar 2 AEO organic validity, build trust signals the LLM site, optimize your trust, pilot your Reddit presence expert, mention schema, markup, pr. These things the winning formula Use Google Ads to generate revenue today and use AEO to build authority for tomorrow When LLMs ads launch, when they launch their ad platforms, the PPC platforms, you'll dominate both organic on the AO side and paid from a Google Ads perspective. And you'll be able to then transition the brands I work with, the ones hitting seven figures, they're not choosing, they are layering. And when you start thinking like this, you'll realize you're not just marketing your business anymore. You're a successful multi marketplace strategist. Which brings me to the bigger picture. So my question to you. Is this right? Real talk. How many of you are excited about what's happening from an LLM search perspective and how many of you are scared? Drop in the comments below your real excitement because the real question is if LLMs start charging for placements, which they will, will you be ready or will you be scrambling?
