Goodbye Google? Perplexity AI Comet Will Change How You Search FOREVER!

Michael Elliott demos Perplexity AI's Comet, a search tool that automates tasks like booking flights and analyzing documents. It pulls live data from Slack, summarizes web pages in a sidebar, and can fill out forms on its own. Elliott argues it could replace Google for most entrepreneurs.
What's going on, guys? Michael Elliot here. I'm excited for this one. Is Perplexity AI the end of Google search? Perplexity have released Comet, which is their search engine. It allows you to be able to do everything that you would do inside of Google and more. I've slowly been using it over the course of the last few weeks. It doesn't matter whether you're a complete beginner and you've never used Perplexity or whether you're a seasoned veteran and you've used Perplexity consistently before. Before. I'm going to deep dive into Comet all of its features, including on how it can book flights for you, it can fill in forms for you without you doing anything, simply based off of commands and instructions, running you through the templates, running you through its deep analysis. I think this is a special one. Let's jump in. This is going to be one of the most energetic videos you've ever seen me make because I am so excited. Google it is dead and I'm going to showcase to you today why Perplexity has taken over my usage from a search engines point of view and should do for 99% of you entrepreneurs out there. Not only can it do basic tasks, let's ask it what's the weather in New York whilst it's doing that and we're waiting for the response, it won't take long. Does a little bit of deep research. Comes with a pretty graph. You can also see top right that there is all of the bookmarks that you would have from a Google Ads perspective, all of them. So we have access to all of the tools that we, we use. Whatever they are for you, you've got them available at your hand. That's important for you, right? When you're working on a day to day basis, you want to make sure that it doesn't take you out of your flow. If you've been using Google for 20 years, you want to make sure that you're, you're sat in line with that. Well this, this does, this does exactly that. So we can do the basic stuff like asking questions so we don't have to worry about losing any elements of that. Because this, because Comet is a new, a new search engine if you like. Now what this also has is access to a few cool tools which are summarized web pages, voice assistant which we'll get to and this beautiful little button at the sidebar. So this gives you the ability to be able to take a pocket rocket with you anywhere you go, any website you visit, you can take this with you. If I'm to visit Chef for Wednesday, don't talk to me about them. I've mentioned that previously before and if I want to open the Sidecar Assistant and just say what is this website about? It will give me a summary that basically Wednesday is struggling and we're in trouble. But yeah, this will give you an example. Now use case for you. Let's say you're out there, you're looking at competitors, you're looking at their offers, you're looking at research docs, analysis documents. You've got profit and losses on things in sheets which I'm going to get to shortly. Profit and losses in sheets that you want summaries on. This is your friend. Sidecar is your, is your hero. It will look after you and it will make your life a lot easier. So before we go deeper into those, I want to cover the interface a little bit more. What's the weather in New York? I'm going to go back to Perplexity. Home Discover gives you the option to go through for you. You can build out your own individual Discover page. You can add individual topics inside of it. You can save interests, you can literally move this around so you can see whatever you want. You can also create spaces. So I've got a mission board idea here And I've got YouTube data here, which for the YouTube data you can add individual files and uploads and etc to them. But that's what those spaces are. Spaces are for. You can add individual information to a space that is based around what it is that you're trying to do at that moment in time and then come back to it later. So you might have areas for one business. Let's say you own two businesses like me. You might have an area for one business and an area for two. You better believe I plan on doing this and having the information from each one pulled inside of it so that I can check on competitors, I can look at how things are moving. What we also have though down here is we have shortcuts, assistant, personalization preferences, all of this lovely stuff. We have APIs, which is obviously critical when you're using, using our things and all settings. I'm not going to go through them all. It's got my name, my subscription, which is pro plan. But one of the key things that I want to show you is connectors and inside of connectors you can connect literally any tool that you, that you want that they have the ability to to add. So available connectors, WhatsApp, GitHub, Dropbox, Outlook, linear Notion. Like the big boys that are common at the moment, they're all here. But these are the three where I live. These are the three where I live. Slack, Google Drive and Gmail and Calendar. But you can connect anything you want. Now the basics are done and the energy is still high because I've got some really cool stuff to show you. So when you look at this, this is going to help your business and your journey if you follow these steps. Because what you do with this can be expanded on. But this is a financial data report from Alphabet and I uploaded this into a space to showcase it to you. So inside of the spaces, annual financial data, you can add individual pieces of information so you can set sources for search, Slack, etc, which I'll show you all in a moment. But when you add these things, you can add, sorry, you can invite people, which is really, really important. But when you create a new document, you can attach files to it. So these are the, these are the individual files. You can add files. I downloaded the Alphabet doc and you can add URLs from websites, sources, RSS feeds, whatever, and you can give it instructions. And I just said your job is to read the annual finance report and give me 10 key takeaways. And this is what it came back with. And I spent the last 10 minutes or so looking through to make sure that this data was right. That's why I went away and that's why the video. I paused the video for 30 minutes. You'll see if it was about 30 minutes ago. Does it say. Yeah, so I wanted to make sure that it was bang on for you guys. So you knew. Well, it pulled from a financial document which you could, could be your own, it could be your company's voice, standard operating procedures that you add new members of staff to. It could be anything you want. And it gave me the information that I requested. Not only that, if we pop out the sidecar, if we ask it, can you give me a two paragraph summary of performance overall time? It's going to analyze the data. It's got a little bit to fetch. Over the entire period, increase steadily from 55 million in 2013, 210 in 2017. Cash flow data reveals strong operating cash generation peaking Notably in 2015, 2016. Great. Now I'm gonna leave this site and I'm going to go to spaces and I'm going to create a new space, a new test space and I am going to set sources for search and I'm going to set it as Slack and I'M going to say can you tell me my average response time to my last five received slack messages via direct message? So this is going to go away and calculate this now, right? Which is absolutely fine. But that might take a little bit of. A little bit of time. Let's see. It's connecting. Maybe we, maybe we want to watch it if you guys want to see the magic. If not, I can always fast forward this, this piece of the content so you can see here that it pulled this through. It pulls the actual message as well. It pulls all of this through. Average response time Messages with responses. Messages without one slowest response. I haven't responded to one in 31 minutes because I'm recording this video. Fastest response was 16 seconds. My average. Your response time show quite a bit of variation. The longer Response time of 31 minutes appears to be an outlier, possibly due to being away from slack during that time. Gave me the full statistics on my own personal slack, including it being 9.1 minutes. But there's one outlier that showcases why that is. So you can use it to manipulate whatever data you want. It's agreed that this is a stupendously powerful tool. Now let's jump into something that's really ridiculous. Okay? This is going to change your life forever. So here we are, right? The, the, the, the big finale, if you like, of what I'm going to show you. Can you book me a flight from London Heathrow business class to New York tomorrow? You can use this tool to book flights for you. And not only that, you can see here that it's going. I'll help you find and book a business class of flight. It's filling in the forms literally as we speak. It's reasoning and it's filling in the forms. It's selecting business class on its own. I'm not doing that. This is finding the correct information. It's typed in Heathrow and now it needs that. It's asking it to select specific things. So London Heathrow is now properly selected. You can see it's brain working on the right hand side. You can literally see it as it goes. John F. Kennedy Airport business class. Now we need to see. It's just going to find flights. So all form fields are correctly filled. The page is loading flight results. Let me wait for the page to fully load. Excellent. The flights results have loaded. I have multiple business class options. Many more throughout the day. Let me select a good morning flight option. The 10am British Airways departure. I better be careful because my card's attached to this. So it's gonna do it. It's found the flight review. Review my flights. The page is calculating the price and let me wait for it to complete. It's so it doesn't know my information. Pause comment assistant. It doesn't know my information because I didn't give it and it's not. I haven't settled my comment to have my information yet, but I know it has my card because I bought something for it last night. It can literally book flights for you. All you've got to do is tell it that you need to go. Okay, so now if that's not enough, so you're worried about that, let's go to one of my landing pages for ppc. And now what we're going to do is we're going to use voice. Hey, can you please submit this form for me?
Sure, I can help with that. Let's go ahead and fill in the form details and submit it. Please tell me what name, phone number, email and any other information you'd like me to use.
The name's Michael Elliott. The email is michaelexample.com and the phone number is 11111. Okay, so now it can submit forms on our behalf. Let me show you how you can do this. We've been following it along as it's gone through its journey. Okay. We've been following it through every step. We've booked flights, we've searched Slack for data, we've searched individual data. Now let's just try one final thing to showcase this to you because what you don't want to be doing is speaking to it and asking it to submit a form. Because if you do that, you might as well have just filled in the form anyway. So whilst I search something else, can you head to and submit a form using my email number and name so I can go away, do whatever I want, check out the news, do have a look at AI Studio, or look at the weather in Leicester Square and go away and do all these things. Got AI running. I could go back to my spaces and review some of the templates. Money managers, role play coach build best in class examples, tailored suggestions. Just share what you're working on. Some of these are actually really cool. I advise that you check them out. Seriously, because this is going to revolutionize the way that you work. Essay grader. You can upload an essay and have it graded. Not that all you criminals out there aren't using chat. GPTs are item anyway. I know, I see you, but yeah, yeah, let's go back here. So that submitted the form on that website without me going anywhere near it. Perplexity is changing the way that the world works. You need to download Comet. I strongly advise that you start to use it. It might feel a little bit alien for a couple of days, but once you have built out these individual systems it can do anything for you. It is your PA in your back pocket like subscribe My name is Michael Elliott. I hope you enjoyed this video because I certainly did. I've been loving Comet recently. I'll catch you in the next one.
