Life Is A Video Game Enjoy The Journey

A motivational talk using video games as a metaphor for life. The speaker argues that chasing the destination leaves you empty, and that the real reward is enjoying the journey itself. He encourages setting new goals and growing continuously rather than stopping once you reach one.
Guys, life is like a video game, okay? Everybody has these successful goals, everybody has these dreams that they want, the goals that they set. It might be a million dollars in the bank, it might be X and Y. And you're pedaling, trying to get there, you're working hard. It's a little bit like a computer game. Think of like Grand Theft Auto. You go around, you kill the bad guys, you finish all the missions, you get to the end of the game and then the game's sort of complete and you feel a bit flat and because it's over. And that's exactly the same feeling that you'll get when you hit your financial or career driven goals. You will, when you get there, you will feel a bit flat. And it's quite strange, but I know that this happens to every business, successful business owner I know. And the reason for it is because what you actually love the most is the journey to get you to where you need to be. Like the fun comes out of having that beacon to look up to, that North Star that you're following. You're following that North Star and you're doing everything you can to get there. And then you reach the North Star and once you get there, it's a bit like, oh, well, you know, I don't feel any different to what I did previously. So enjoy the journey, guys. Enjoy the struggle. Enjoy the good and the bad, because it comes to everybody. You will hit your goals if you stick with it, but when you do, don't expect a massive weight to be lifted off of your shoulders. You'll just feel a little bit lost. And the key is obviously to continue to push from there and set new goals. And then there's more so you know where you are today. You'll be in a completely different position in five years time and then your goals will be different. But the work, the journey, the hard work and effort that goes in will still be the same. And that will remain until the day that you no longer here.
