The 1 Mistake That’s Killing Your Sales Calls (Do This Instead)

Michael explains why most salespeople lose deals on the first call: they pitch instead of making prospects feel exclusive. Ask what they're working on and listen first.
Hey, how was your weekend? How's your week? What have you been doing? No, that is not how you start your sales calls. Hi, my name is Michael, I'm from X company. I am associated with a B and C person. My background is X and Y and I'm here today to see whether you're a good fit to take our product or service. Whether it's a free offer, a bonus, sales guarantee, whatever it is. And you switch the conversation directly from being a sales call where they feel like someone's going to take something from them and you make it into something that is about a sort of exclusive group that they want to join and instantly their mindset changes. Now this works even better if you can associate something with it with a monetary value. So if you say, hey, my name's Michael, I work, I'm from AI train. I worked with DirecTV out of out of the US on their AI automations improved efficiency and generated an additional 6 million in revenue over Q3 of last year. As soon as you give them some sort of qualification of who you are and why you become somebody that they want to lean in towards instead of feeling like you're taking something from them.
