The instructors review the three pillars of blended learning: physical space, hardware, and software. For Week 5, you'll evaluate edtech tools using EdSurge's EdTech Index or Common Sense Media's Graphite, test them, read reviews, and share your own findings.
So let's recap the big ideas in this section. We spent some time thinking about the kind of facilities that you have and how facilities and space so impact the blended learning setting. And then we went back and talked about the hardware choices you have to make and what kind of devices will get you, what kind of outcomes with students, and some of our recommendations. And we started with looking at the different kinds of software that really drives a lot of this learning and the resources that are out there to help you and, and the ways that you can contribute to the knowledge base in.
This space. So on that note, let's kick it out to Rob so that you can hear about your assignment, where you're going to get to use that software resource, about evaluating the software that's out there so you can add to all of our knowledge.
So here's the week five assignment. Let's first think about your week four assignment where you budgeted for a single classroom activity. Now, in that you already have to select hardware and a price point for the software that you were going to use. So think about this week, because this week we're really focusing right on that software. And we have two products that I know that Brian and Michael had already explained to you about. EdSurge's EdTech Index and Common Sense Media's Graphite. What you're going to do is you're going to go to one or both of those sites and pick a few products to review things that you might actually want to use in your prototype. That would be how it would be the most valuable to you. Read the reviews, go onto the products and actually look at the products and play around with them. And if you want go and actually create a review, you should help create reviews. Particularly if you go to the EdSurge EdTech Index, you can create a review yourself. And if you go into Graphite, you can put in some field notes.
