A team of dedicated volunteers and pilots with a charity called Pilots to the Rescue, a nonprofit organization that fly to save the lives of our furry friends. Need is great. In America, nearly 1 million dogs and cats are euthanized every year.
I never would have believed beyond my wildest imaginations that we would be where we are. So I'm in awe. It's a beautiful thing to see.
Hi, babies. There's a lot of heartbreak, but there's a lot of wonderful stories to tell.
The plane. How can you not be touched and know that you were part of a special mission?
It's almost like the dogs, like, have a sixth sense and they, like, know that they're going somewhere better or know that they're being rescued. It's extremely rewarding. These animals, they just give you such unconditional love and they have such trust.
I love you. Yes, I love you.
Honestly, it's probably one of the greatest feelings in the world, especially when you get to see the adoption families. It makes my day, my month, my year. To be able to send these animals home.
We're bringing you home and you're going to have families and they're going to love you and kiss you. It feels incredible. It really does.
As soon as we close that baggage door, blue skies are ahead. Being able to save all these animals and seeing the lives changed of the people that adopt them, that's ultimate payment for what I do. Giving back is tremendous fulfillment.
They are really saving lives.
And every time I get on these missions, whether I'm flying or not, it's some of the best days of my life. Took me 45 years to figure out about what I wanted to do when I grow up. Sometimes you just gotta take that leap of faith and just trust yourself. Trust yourself that you can do this.
It truly gives me such a purpose. When you adopt, you're saving a life.
The future for Pawed to Rescue is extremely bright. Thank you for your support, for your donations, and we look forward to seeing you on the next trip.
How do you go home empty-handed? A ride?
Irresistible. Take 'em all.
I gotta give that group props. They did a really nice thing. Uh, we are looking at a— props, it's a plane. See?
