In a livestream recorded on November 29, 2021, Michael Schneider—executive director, founder, and newly‑certified commercial pilot of a rescue organization—hosts a live rescue mission from Asheville, North Carolina. Together with volunteer driver Lisa, Wolf Conservation Center representative Rebecca, and pilot George, they transport a red wolf from the Wolf Conservation Center and nine dogs rescued from the Home for Good facility in Aiken, South Carolina, to Home for Good’s location in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. The broadcast details the logistics (a 4‑hour drive for Lisa, a 3‑hour flight back to Essex County), introduces each dog by name (Hazel, Lolo Ben, Toby, Bindi, Merlot, Duchess, Smokey, Debbie, etc.), and encourages viewers to adopt via homeforgood.com. Michael promotes a Giving Tuesday fundraiser on November 30, urging donations or shares of the livestream. The tone is conversational and enthusiastic, with occasional humor, while providing concrete adoption and donation information. The video serves both as a real‑time rescue update and a fundraising/awareness call for the organization’s ongoing rescue work.
¡Hola!
It's a beautiful day. We're down in Asheville, North Carolina. We just took a red wolf from Wolf Conservation Center in Westchester County down here to Asheville in North Carolina, and we're not going back empty. That's the important point. We're rescuing 9 dogs today for Home for Good. Lisa, a volunteer driver, drove from Aiken, South Carolina, and met us. How long was the drive?
4 hours.
Thank you for that. Drove 4 hours to meet us here in, uh, Asheville, North Carolina, and then we have about a 3-hour flight back up to Essex County. So let's take a look at some of these dogs we're rescuing today. Thanks for joining us. We have a, um, a giving fundraiser. What is the name of the giving fundraiser on November 30th? I'm drawing a blank, everyone. Giving Tuesday. Thank you. Giving Tuesday fundraiser, November 30th. You'll see it in the livestream. Please give whatever you can. If you can't give, please share the livestream. Thank you everyone for joining. I'm Michael Schneider, top dog, executive director, founder, chief pilot. Today's actually my first rescue as a commercial pilot. I got my commercial pilot's license a couple weeks ago and I'm having a blast. Sorry, enough about me. And, uh, before we get to the dogs, we got George here. George, how was the flight?
Amazing.
I was a little scared on the landing, but we did it. Yeah, George is here. Rebecca's laughing at me. We got Rebecca here from the Wolf Conservation Center making sure the wolf gets down. There's Lisa on the back. Yeah, so we got the whole crew here. All right, so enough about us. Here are the dogs. What's this guy's name? Little H. Little H. Hi, Little H. Do you know anything about these dogs, Lisa?
I really don't. I just recently started with them, so I am currently learning all about.
Got it. Well, they're all from Aiken, South Carolina, from the Home for Good facility, going up to Home for Good in— I think it's Morristown, right?
Uh, Berkeley Heights.
Berkeley Heights. You want to adopt any of these dogs, go to Home for Good's website. Is it homeforgood.com? Homeforgood.com. I don't think any of them are, uh, spoken for, are they?
Uh, that I don't know.
This is Hazel. Hazel looks like a Yorkie.
Yep, she's a Yorkie.
Yeah, doesn't want to have anything to do with us. Hi Sag Harbor! Hi Lolo Ben! Thank you, Gina. And this is Toby. Toby's adorable. These are— these dogs look like, uh, they might have some full breed in them, possibly. Okay, so some of these dogs are puppy mill rescues. The dogs that people spend thousands of dollars on, it's not necessary because you can rescue one from Home for Good. Adorable. Okay. Hi, Lisa. All right, and this one is Bindi. Hi, Bindi. Bindi's not really feeling it. He's a little scared. Maybe he's never been on a flight before. And this one is Merlot. Merlot's the— is this the flight risk, or is it Bindi? What? And Merlot just has something we're dealing with medically. Is it a medical virus?
Uh, no, he just likes to run.
Okay, he likes to run. All right. And here's Duchess. Hi, Duchess. Yeah, there's Duchess. Okay, here's Smokey and Debbie. They did a great job labeling the crates. Thank you for doing that.
You're welcome.
Yeah. Oh, there's two in there, Smokey and Debbie. That makes sense. Uh, brother and sister, two sisters, we don't know. Not related, just get Last but not least is Bo. Okay. All right, now we're going to load the 9 dogs up in the plane and get off to New Jersey. Thanks for joining. Short live today. Tomorrow you can join us on Facebook. We're gonna do a Facebook Live tomorrow and we will be rescuing, I think, 7 dogs from Southern Pines. North Carolina for A New Chance Animal Rescue, a partner we've been working with a long time. And we have a couple influencers joining us, helping to spread the word about the good work we do here at Pilots to the Rescue. And we look forward to seeing you all on the next mission. Thank you, Gina. Please don't forget to contribute to our Giving Tuesday fundraiser or share the Giving Tuesday fundraiser so your friends can, uh, maybe donate a little bit or get the word out there. And, uh, we'll see you on Facebook tomorrow.
