In this live‑stream, Michael Schneider, founder of the nonprofit Pilots to the Rescue, documents a three‑hour flight from Essex County Airport (New Jersey) to Moore County Airport (Southern Pines, North Carolina) delivering seven dogs to the foster‑based network A New Chance Animal Rescue in Westchester County, NY. The broadcast features guest influencer Chico La Cucaracha, Maverick Pet Transport’s Rick, and donor pilot Cy Blackman. Schneider outlines the charity’s mission—relocating at‑risk dogs and cats from overcrowded southern shelters to higher‑adoption‑rate areas—citing 600 animals rescued last year and a goal of 1,000 this year. He introduces the rescued dogs (e.g., Guinness, a red‑head border collie mix, and Amber, a tail‑less pup), explains their uncertain backgrounds (owner surrenders, COVID‑related abandonments), and directs viewers to Instagram for adoption links. Throughout, Schneider repeatedly asks viewers to follow the organization, share the stream, and donate, emphasizing the importance of social‑media amplification via Chico’s large follower base. The stream concludes with a sign‑off and a reminder that the team will fly back to New Jersey.
Chapters
Everyone, Michael Schneider here, Top Dog Pilots to the Rescue. We had a 3-hour flight from Essex County, our home airport, to Moore County, North Carolina, Southern Pines, home of Pinehurst Golf Course, doing our usual run with A New Chance Animal Rescue. A New Chance Animal Rescue is a foster-based facility or foster-based network based in Westchester County. All these dogs can be adopted from A New Chance. Today we have Chico La Cucaracha with us today. We're very excited. I just requested you, Chico. Chico's gonna be coming on in a minute, and I appreciate everybody joining.
There he is.
Hey, Chico, how was the flight?
The flight was good. Look at him right there. We're like live but in the same place.
Yeah, appreciate you joining us today, uh, Chico. You've been in a small plane before, right?
Yes, I did. Yeah, my father-in-law actually have those small planes. Uh, it's— I'm very comfortable flying. I fly all the time as a model, you know, so I actually enjoy a little turbulence, a little shaky moments, a little emotion. I enjoy it. But here, let's talk about the dogs. Let's talk about what we're doing here.
Yeah, so, uh, here at Pilots to the Rescue, we are a nonprofit charity based in Brooklyn, New York, and we transport animals that are at risk. These are mainly dogs and cats from overcrowded shelters, largely here in the South on the East Coast of the United States, and we transport them so they have a better chance of being adopted. Last year we saved nearly 600 animals. This year our goal is 1,000. And Chico is graciously volunteering by coming along on this mission today to help spread the message about the good work we do at Pilots to Rescue. Really important having people like Chico get involved because they obviously have a great network, all his loyal followers and supporters. And my number one ask of Chico's followers and supporters is please follow us. We are still a very small young charity and would appreciate it at some point after this live stream sharing this live stream and hitting that follow button here on Instagram. Even if you can't donate, following our charity, uh, is very important so we can further spread our message. So today we are rescuing 7 dogs. These 7 dogs, we don't have a lot of information about them, uh, they're either owner surrenders strays. Some of them could be, you know, victims of COVID meaning their owners got kicked out of their apartments and the dogs weren't allowed, or perhaps they, they passed away from the disease. And again, it's a new— they're going to be going to A New Chance Animal Rescue. It's a foster-based network out of Westchester County, New York. They're all available to be adopted. So after this live stream, I know my social media manager is going to post links so you can go and check them out and adopt them. So at that— at this point, we're going to go and check out the animals. We do have Rick here. Rick is with Maverick Pet Transport.
Rick, good morning. Good afternoon, I should say. I'm all right.
So who do you have here, Rick?
This is Guinness.
Guinness.
Guinness came from one of the southern shelters here just in time for St.
Patrick's Day.
That's right. He's red, reddish, redhead, appears to be probably like a border collie mix.
Awesome.
Very active young pup. Very highly—
very loving.
Kisses. All right, and here we have Cy Blackman. Cy Blackman's a donor and rescue pilot himself.
Hi.
Yeah, thanks for joining us, Cy. Uh, let's load up Guinness, baby. Okay, Chico, you can get the camera and show your—
sure.
Yeah, yeah, I was already showing. So yeah, those dogs right here.
Here we go.
Look at this sweet heart.
Go ahead. So cute.
Okay, if you want to go, if you guys want to adopt them, like, like Michael Schneider, all right, well, just go to the Instagram. They're gonna be posting all the information so you guys can go get a chance to rescue those dogs. You know, we Guinness all the way here, take them so you guys can rescue them. They are amazing.
Look at this cutie one. We gotta put you in the crate so you can ride. Come on, come on, come on!
There's a big one right here. Want to say something, Mike?
Good one!
Here's our pilot.
Yeah, here's— and now I'm on his live stream with his camera. Yeah, looks like you have a ton of loyal followers here. Yeah, they're really excited. And, uh, again, if you guys could please—
just one and a half—
let's arrest you, would be much appreciated. Who's next, Rick?
Let's get little Amber out. Yes. No, no, come on, Amber. This is little Amber.
I guess now we're going to show you guys how it loads.
New car pup, come from the shelter. She's missing her tail. They're going to New York, New Jersey, and they get picked up by a company called New Chance Rescue. Are they already in New York?
No, they're not accounted for.
Nope. Yeah.
All right, so maybe we'll sign off now.
Yeah, yeah, I think we already sent a message.
Yeah.
All right, so now we're going to sign off so we can load the rest of the pups. We appreciate everybody's support. Again, if you wouldn't mind following Pilots to the Rescue, that would be the best thing you can do. Uh, Chico has a lot of followers. We really appreciate it. Follow us, share this livestream, donate if you can. Okay, again, my name is Michael Schneider. I'm top dog here at Pilots to the Rescue, and I really appreciate you supporting us. We saved these amazing 7 furry souls today. And we're about to fly back to New Jersey. Anything else you want to say, Chico?
No, not really. Let's go, let's fly, let's fight those dogs.
