Actress Nicole Patrick, known for Gossip Girl and 30 Rock, runs Chic Chien Château Dog Rescue, a foster-based nonprofit. For every ten healthy dogs they place, they take in two special-needs dogs. They're currently transporting rescued pets from Virginia to Massachusetts.

We are a foster-based rescue. When you adopt, don't shop. You're saving a life. For every 10 regular, healthy dogs that we adopt out, we take in 2 special needs dogs. Really, without this program, they wouldn't have a standing chance.
Today's mission, we're flying down to Virginia to bring up pets to Massachusetts. Massachusetts, you can no longer buy a pet from the pet store. You can only adopt a pet. So it's great to hear things like that.
The world is becoming a lot more open to adopt and not shop. It is a really exciting time to be working in rescue, and I think that it's just going to get better and better, and it's a really great thing to see.
