Michael Schneider describes the emotional rush of rescuing animals, feeling "on top of the world" when they react with excitement. Rescued animals perk up during transport and show noticeable changes after adoption, giving rescuers a tangible sense of purpose.
When I'm flying and rescue animals, you feel like you're on top of the world. Seeing them, their faces when you pick them up, they get excited about the trip. They feel that they're going somewhere. They're outside of their probably horrendous conditions. It gives them a sense of hope.
These animals that have probably been through a very tumultuous time, all of a sudden they perk up when you come and get them. And then of course we drop them off. Hearing back from people that have adopted them, they say that these dogs are different than when they got them. And so it's just great to be able to give them a chance at life. It's the best part. It makes us feel great. Michael Schneider.
