Mike Michalowicz writes multiple books fast by working with accountability partners. He does intensive cabin retreats and daily one-hour Zoom writing sessions with other authors. He says most output gets discarded, but occasional passages become what he calls "gold flakes" that make it into his books.

A common question that I'm asked is, Mike, how do you write so many books? How do you get so much done? One technique is to have accountability with a partner. I don't write alone. I have someone that works with me, and AJ and I will do a cabin retreat and we'll just write and write. We're on Zoom all the time. We live nearby each other and we meet up. So it's having a partner. If you don't have a direct partner, join a sprint group. So another component I have is every morning I team up with other authors and we write together. And seeing other people writing motivates me to write. We spend an hour a day writing together and I get tons of writing done. Admittedly, most goes to the trash, but sometimes there's gold flakes to be extracted from that, and that's the stuff that goes into my books. Join or create a sprint, or get a partner, or both.
