In this informal video monologue, the creator walks viewers through his ongoing home‑garden projects at his wife Krista’s flower garden. He describes constructing tiered planting beds on a rocky, storm‑damaged slope, clearing fallen trees and debris, and planning an orchard of apple and pear trees. He also mentions future steps to protect the orchard from deer using chicken wire. Throughout, he shares his enthusiasm for hands‑on building, cutting, and shaping rocks, positioning these projects as his creative outlet when not writing books, and invites viewers to share their own home‑project hobbies.
Drinking a Dark and Stormy that I just made and just checking out the garden I'm assembling and building. So this is my wife's garden, called Krista's flower garden. Mike's responsibility. And now I'm going up in tiers. I got this tier up here and where that hose is, I'm going to fill that with soil, put in more plants and I'm going to go up one more tier along this crevice here. We live on this like really rocky. You can see it's of kind. Kind of boulder here. This little really rocky kind of area made this big storm come through. It tore down these trees. So I started. Some actually fell toward the house. So I started cutting them up and throwing them back here. And I'm going to clear all this out ultimately and maybe put a garden up here. Is that crazy? Is that crazy? I don't know. Those are my home projects though. I like just like building stuff, cutting stuff, smashing stuff, smashing up some rocks, believe it or not. See that rock there? I took that chunk off and. Or I took a chunk off and put it there and I'm gonna use it to build a wall. That's my home project. Oh, and I'm trying to make an orchard down there too. Those trees with little labels on it, you probably can't see it come over here. But those are different apple tree and pear trees and stuff. And next project is to protect it from the deer. I gotta put some kind of chicken wire around it. What's your home projects? That's what I do when I'm not writing books. I'm curious what you do.
