Hi, my name is Allie Faber, otherwise known as the stretch Lady. I am a massage and stretch therapist as well as a life coach. And today we are going to talk about gratitude. And my gratitude specifically is for perspective. So I don't know how many of you out there have dealt with a major family issue in which you chose to or needed to put your parents, son, daughter, someone in your family into some sort of intervention or assisted living type situation. I have and so has my partner. And I can tell you that it is one of the most challenging things a human being can do is to make a decision that is in someone else's best interest and may not be in yours. And it's very jarring. And most of the time in these situations you don't have time on your side, you're under duress, which I like to say. You can't trust who you are under duress because under duress, we get very, very stressed out. Our brain moves from that rest and digest into fight and flight and our nervous system goes haywire and we have to make very quick, snap decisions that sometimes will affect us for a very, very long time. So as I said, I am going to talk about gratitude with regard to perspective. So my life partner just put his parents into an assisted living facility and this was not an easy decision for anyone. And he was not the only person that was making this decision. There were other folks that were involved in the family and I've been watching him through the process. We're still in it. And what I noticed was the amount of empathy and perspective that I had because I had done this with my mom three years prior. And I remembered exactly where I was, exactly how I felt and have been able to be more supportive, more loving, more understanding with regard to how I've been showing up for him and his family because of my perspective. And perspective is how we see things through the lens of our eyes, our experience, and being a massage and stretch therapist. My main aspect with regard to my interaction with my clients is not only experience and knowledge base, but compassion and empathy. And I've had the most amazing experience utilizing it in my personal life as well, especially given this situation. So my gratitude really is deeply, deeply, deeply there because I know what someone's been through. The empathetic aspect of me and the compassionate aspect of me is really allowing me to show up in the best way for my partner. And that's just one of the best things we can do for people is to give them the space to be who they are, but to support them through really challenging situations. So this episode of gratitude is based in perspective. Thanks again. Ali Faber the Stretch Lady I'm the Stretch lady on all platforms, Instagram, Facebook I'm hestretchlady.com thank you so much.
