Welcome to another episode. This is the Ready to Play series for athletes. And the ready to Play series is we usually start with an assessment. So I use this for athletes ages 13 years old to about 18 or 19 all the way through the pros through weekend warriors. But I'm really focusing on the younger player right now. So. So the first thing that we do is you take a ready to play assessment. And that assessment will measure where you are now within your mindset and where you need to be. And it measures different things about, okay, are you coachable? Are you ready to listen to your coaches and follow through with instructions? We talk about different attributes and it works. Kind of in a funny way it looks at like two different views. We call it the world view, which is as an athlete, how do you look at things from the outside world looking in? And then there's the self view. So we look at the worldview and the self view and the self view is more of your emotions and your feelings and how do you deal with things? So we go throughout the assessment and we want to know about your focus level. Are you focusing? Are you getting distracted as a young athlete? So we look at the scores. Again, it's a baseline. We use this just as a tool to help the athlete. We also measure game intelligence, like how do you see the game? Are you one with the game? How do you prepare for a game? And it really is a great tool to help you. For me, the most fun is getting into the growth mindset with the athlete. And we just want to see, okay, how are you going to improve as an athlete? So we look at a score. Does that mean that you believe in your abilities or do you not believe in your abilities as an athlete? All of us go through ups and downs as a player. So I love this tool. I use it all the time with all my athletes to measure anything. Even we talk about mental toughness. Now, what is mental toughness? Right? There's been so many definitions of that. We're not going to get into it here, but we use the tool for mental toughness as well. Understanding mental toughness and self aware. Are you aware of who you are as an athlete? Do you feel Confident? Do you practice self talk? Do you feel good within your game? They say a lot about sports is confidence. So we use a lot of these tools that will help you to show you where you are now and where you need to be and all you need to do for the families out there or parents or even if you're a weekend warrior. If you want to take the assessment, you go to hartman academy no.com hartman.academy and then you'll go into the program area. You will see the program. I'm going to leave a discount code and give it to for everybody for 50% off. And we also give a little elearning course that's going to help you understand, you know, are you a basketball player? Is that an aerobic or anaerobic sport? We talk about weight loss even though it's not important. But how important is that scale? You know, do you throw that scale away, you know, even as a young athlete? And these are for the parents too. So the moms and dads will probably get a lot more out of, out of that little section of our elearning course. I'm going to leave a code in the show notes or you could reach out to me and ask me for that code. So we're going to do 10 episodes on Ready to Play. So even if you don't take an assessment, we're not asking you to buy an assessment if you don't want to buy one and you don't want the program going forward. What I'm going to do is I'm going to for the next many episodes or Monday through Thursday, then Friday we'll have a guest on for the next three weeks. I'm going to talk about getting ready to play as an athlete and how important it is to get ready to play. Do you have the ability to play big? Do you play to win or do you play not to lose? Are you playing on the perimeter as an athlete? And athletics are tough. But remember at the end of the day, athletics, I have to spit it out because it bothers me so much. And what bothers me is sometimes the pressure that some of the coaches put on our young players today and even the pressure if you're a weekend warrior that you put on yourself. So again, Hartman Academy, I will have a discount code for you and I'm looking forward to working with you, answering your questions, going to our website, looking at all the resources that are there for you and if there's anything we could do at our end, please let us know.
