Welcome to another episode. We're on the Ready to Play series and today we're going to talk about short term goals. So we talked about a measurable goal. That's something, okay, that's, that's attainable through action. A short term goal are things that we are going to focus on today. A short term goal is things we are going to focus on today or even for the next three weeks. You're gonna put a timetable to it. Me personally, my short term goals were anywhere from for a month to three months at one time. But it's all up to you as an athlete and you can reach out to us and ask questions@hartman.academy no.com and hey, what time frame do I need to put my goals together? Because it's kind of complicated sometime when we talk about goals. So the short term goal is one to three months. That's how I did it. And we're going to start focusing on them now. So you can get out a piece of paper, you can write. Okay. My short term goal today as an athlete is I want to outwork everybody for the next week and I'm going to outwork everybody on the football field playing lacrosse, hockey, soccer, tennis, basketball, golf. No matter what it is, I'm going to be in the zone as a golfer for the next three. I'm not going to have anything distract me for the next three weeks. That's the short term goal. We're not going to get into mindset because there's a lot of mindset and there's too much to talk about in a long period of time in more than five minutes. So the short term goal, I want you to think about that. Well, my short term goal is one to three months. And that's how I did it. Doesn't mean you have to. Your short term goals could be even shorter. So the short term goal is one to three months. Focus in on what you're going to do. We're going to list these goals. Now, one time I asked a young athlete to write down their goals and they gave me this huge list. Boy, I put anxiety on me. I said, oh my gosh, that's a lot of goals. So When I talk about short term goals, I usually do between two and five goals that I want to accomplish. I don't make a list. Well, my goal is to do this, my goal is to do that. My goal is to score three goals this game. To me, that's not a goal. It's something that's actionable within your plan that we talked about in a few episodes ago. So if you haven't listened to all the episodes, go back and listen to the other episodes so you get a feel of what we're doing. But short term goals are in place. That just keeps you focused on what to do you could have had within that three months or even within the week. I used to evaluate ourselves. So as a pro hockey player, I remember I was playing for the New York Rangers and we would have meetings after every five games. So the short term goal for us was within five games. Now our five games would be different than an amateur's five games because we could play three games in a week. So we would look back and we would measure, okay, how did we do? Evaluate yourself, how did you do within these five games? So the short term goal is to have an 8 or 10 rating within the five games that you're playing. And I could explain that more. You could reach out to Hartman Academy, leave a message for us. We're here to help you. I don't expect you to completely pick this up and maybe some of you already do, which is fine. Let's say you're a weekend warrior. The short term goal is to stay healthy for the next 90 days by properly fueling your body, taking care of yourself, trying to get better each time, not trying to break records right away. I talked about the earlier in one of my earlier podcasts about the frustrated athlete, I would call it, because they're putting so much pressure on themselves. They're trying to compete with. They read about maybe a former Olympian or a college star or professional. Be within yourself. Make sure you write your own short term goals down. We'd love to help you with these. Go to Hartman Academy no dot com. I keep saying that because people get confused all the time and you go under the program area. I have a 50% discount code. I do the ready to play assessment where we will communicate with you through the course. We have an area where you take the course and the course is really there just to be a guide. It's a fun course. Everybody passes. Because what you could do is go back and look at the answers. We're not here to make it tough, but we want you to understand things like, you know, what is digestion, you know, the simplest things like what is aerobic, what is anaerobic, what are, you know, how do you with weights and understanding the basic language. Because I believe when you know that much more and you have knowledge, it's going to take your sport, your game, whatever it is, to the next level. We have this for the parents. We want the parents to watch us with their children. Of course we talk about weight control and some of us, you know, we have 13, 14 year olds, we don't have to worry about that too much. But it's really good that the families understand this. So looking forward to helping you. It's 50% off in the, in the area that we have. We're trying to give back to the communities.
