Welcome athletes. In the next few minutes, we'll focus on a breathing technique designed to calm your nerves and sharpen your focus as you prepare for competition. Let's harness your energy positively. We will be using Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing. This technique involves deep breaths that fully engage your diaphragm, Allowing your body to maximize oxygen intake and slow your heart rate, calming your nerves efficiently. Find a comfortable seated position or stand with your feet shoulder width apart. Place one hand on your chest and the other on your stomach. This will help you focus on your breathing and ensure you're using your diaphragm effectively. Close your eyes to minimize distractions. Let's begin by exhaling fully through your mouth to empty your lungs. Now, slowly inhale through your nose, counting to four, focusing on filling your stomach with air, not just your chest. Feel the hand on your stomach rise and the hand on your chest should move very little. Hold your breath for a count of four, then exhale slowly through your mouth for a count of six. Feel the hand on your stomach lower as you push all the air out. Repeat this breathing pattern. Inhale through your nose. One, two, three, four. Hold one, two, three, four and exhale through your mouth. One, two, three, four, five, six. Continue to focus on the movement of your stomach and the calming rhythm of your breath. As we conclude this session. Gradually ease back into your natural breathing pattern. Feel the calm and focus enveloping your body. Gently open your eyes when you're ready, carrying this sense of calm and focus into your game. Remember, use this technique whenever you feel the nerves kicking in to bring back your focus and calm. Best of luck today.
