Welcome everyone. Today we're going to practice the 4, 7, 8 breathing technique. This simple exercise is a powerful way to help calm your nervous system and relieve stress. It's especially beneficial for those looking to enhance focus, manage anxiety and improve sleep. The 4, 7, 8 breathing technique involves three parts. Breathing in quietly through your nose for four seconds, holding your breath for seven seconds and exhaling forcefully through your mouth, pursing your lips and making a whoosh sound for eight seconds. This pattern will be repeated for several cycles. Find a comfortable seated position with your back straight. Place the tip of your tongue against the ridge of tissue. Just behind your upper front teeth and keep it there throughout the practice. Let's close our eyes to enhance focus. Now, let's begin. Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound. Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four. One, two, three, four. Now hold your breath for a count of seven. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Next, exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to A count of eight. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. That completes one cycle. Let's continue this breathing pattern. Inhale through your nose for four, hold for seven and exhale through your mouth for eight. Keep your pace consistent and your body relaxed.

As we bring this session to a close, slowly discontinue your 4, 7, 8 breathing. And return to your natural breathing rhythm. Take a moment to notice the stillness of your mind. And the relaxation of your body. Gently open your eyes when you feel ready. Thank you for joining me today in this breathing exercise. Remember, you can practice this technique anytime you feel stressed or anxious or when preparing for sleep. Have a wonderful rest of your day.
