Today in Stories of Gratitude, I'm going to share a story that is not so positive, but I think it's very important that I share this message with you because it really hit home. And the message is don't lie, tell the truth, and just be real, be authentic. And I was recently reading a Facebook post about a coach who explained how they're doing so well within their business and they're crushing it and they're just having the best time of their lives. They said something like, they're making over half a million a year within the business. I said, wow, this is fantastic. Except the only problem is I just talked to them not too long ago and they're struggling. And what they're doing again, I would never say names, but the whole purpose here is this person really, to me, lost a lot of credibility. So whatever you do out there, and this is a story of gratitude, but there isn't much gratitude here. So if I was going to give some mentorship to this person, I would say, don't post. Don't fake it till you make it. To me, that's the worst line I've ever heard. Fake it till you make it. And I'm not bitter right now. I may sound it, but I'm more disappointed because my whole intent was to help this person and not even charge them. You know, for me, my whole purpose is to add value. We've been in this business for over 17 years. We have helped thousands of people. We've ran over 17,000 different assessments so that many people have taken our program and we've had our ups and downs. We're going to tell you that we've been through challenges, especially when economic change is happening. Covid just completely set us back and I'm going to share that story. It was really hard. I mean, I was living outside of Hoboken, things were going great, and next thing you know, everything stopped. I mean, it was amazing. My business just completely stopped and we just had to reinvent ourselves. That's all. We had to do things that were different. But we're not going to fake it to we make it. So today is just something for you to listen to. Please don't fake it till you make it because it's only going to hold you back. And there really lies, you know, people could read through that. People could read through things that are not real, things that are not authentic, things that are fake. And it's just something that is going to really hurt you more than help you. Because really, in the end, nobody cares how much money you made or how well you did. They just want to see if you could bring value to them. So if you're a coach out there at any type of coach, if you're a hockey coach, baseball coach, soccer coach, life coach, tennis coach, business coach, be authentic, be real. And I promise you, good things will happen. So this is a very short story today for you. This is just the message. You could take it any way you want. I thought it was important that I shared this again. I'm not trying to be mean towards this person. Even if this person listened to this, maybe they'll learn something from this, maybe not. But at the end of the day, be real. And please, if anybody says fake it till you make it run. I hope everybody has a fantastic day. Until the next time with the stories of gratitude. We will see you then.
