Welcome to the Hartman Dot Academy Guided Meditations. Before starting this meditation, please make sure you have consulted your doctor and are able to perform the exercise Gratitude means to appreciate joy. It can be understood as simply as showing up for happiness with a caring presence. In our daily lives, we often do not truly appreciate the moments of joy, whether they are small or significant. And as you train the mind to be more appreciative and grateful, you feel more fulfilled by joy. You recognize happiness more easily in your life, and you train the mind to treat happiness as an important experience. So go ahead and settle yourself into a comfortable position. You can sit on a chair, a couch, or on a cushion on the ground. Roll back your shoulders gently and keep them down and away from your ears. Rest your hands in your lap and gently close your eyes. Let's take a couple of deep relaxing breaths. Now breathing in through the nose, hold and then breathing out through the mouth. Again breathing in deeply. And breathing out slowly and one last time. Breathing in deeply, hold and then breathing out slowly. Now allow the breath to settle. Notice where you are. Notice where you are seated and notice what can you feel in the body? What can you hear? There is no need to do anything other than observe your present time. Experience at this moment. And bring your awareness to a location in the body where you can feel the breath most clearly. Be with the body and the breath for a few moments now, feeling the inhalations and exhalations as they come and go, feeling the rising and the falling of the chest and the belly, feeling the air tickle the nose as you breathe and just stay here for a moment, relaxing into space. Two minutes. And now bring to mind a time in which you recently experienced happiness. It may be something small, like seeing a friend having a cup of your favorite tea, watching the sunset or reading your favorite book. When you have that image in your mind, allow yourself to feel the experience of contentment. With the intention of cultivating gratitude and keeping this memory in your mind. Offer yourself a few phrases of appreciative joy either out loud to yourself or in your mind. May my happiness continue. May my happiness grow. May I be present for joy. May I appreciate the joy in my life. Just take a moment to focus your attention on these words and focus on your intention of appreciating the happiness and the feeling of contentment from your memory. And if at any point your mind wanders, that's okay, just return your attention back to these phrases. May my happiness continue. May my happiness grow. May I be present for joy. May I appreciate the joy in my life now take a moment to appreciate the effort you put in on a daily basis, appreciating the opportunity to pause and experience this very practice of gratitude itself. Appreciate the time and energy you are putting into practice Gratitude. It may not seem like much, but remember that it stacks on top of all the world you already do. Spending some time to allow the sense of gratitude to fill you completely as you breathe in and out, settling on the breath fully present at this very moment. Sa. Sam and as you continue to breathe, Bring to mind what is magical about your life. It can be absolutely anything. Maybe it is your career, your goals, your relationships, or simply enjoying a delicious cup of tea in the afternoon. There is always something magical in the small moments of our lives as much as there is in the big ones. So just bring to mind what feels magical about your life. And take some time to answer the following questions for yourself. What parts of your life are you grateful for? What people in your life are you grateful for? What parts of yourself are you grateful for? What about your work, passions and hobbies are you grateful for? What about today are you grateful for? And what about this very moment are you grateful for? Now take some time to arrive at an awareness of your feet. Feel gratitude for your feet, for carrying your body every day. Feel gratitude for your ankles, for flexibility, allowing you to walk. Feel gratitude for your knees and the flexible joints that help you move forward. Feel gratitude for your pelvis, for protecting your organs and for being a strong foundation for your body. Feel gratitude for your hips for allowing you to be active. Feel gratitude for your stomach, allowing you to digest nutrition. Feel gratitude for your lungs for allowing you to breathe. Feel gratitude for your shoulders for allowing you to carry your responsibilities. Feel gratitude for your arms, allowing you to embrace every experience with love and compassion. Feel gratitude for your hands and fingers, allowing you to carry out your daily tasks. Feel gratitude for your lips, mouth, nose, eyes and ears for allowing you to sense. Feel gratitude for your mind and your brain for allowing you to experience beautiful thoughts. Thank your body for empowering you to experience a fulfilling life. And now say thank you, extending your sincere gratitude for the wonderful being that you are. Be thankful for all the wonderful things that you have. Thank you for being a better friend, partner, child or parent. Thank you for going the extra mile to make this world a better place. And as this practice comes to an end, gently begin to come back to your body and your surroundings. Begin to move your body gently stretching easily. Wiggle your toes and your fingers. Move your head from side to side and when you are ready, open your eyes. Sa. Foreign.
