In this episode, I'm going to talk about shake it off and using your mindset as it really refers to the mental attitude of quickly moving on from setbacks, challenges or negative experiences. So we're going to help you here in that area. It's not about dwelling on difficulties, but rather acknowledging them, taking control of them, being accountable towards them, processing your emotions and being proactive, taking steps to let go, move forward. We use the word reset a lot. You probably heard me say that in some of my episodes. Just taking a little bit of a reset. This mindset is inspired by the idea of shaking off physical tension or discomfort or something that may be holding you back. And I'm going to go over a couple of these different things that I believe, especially as an athlete or workplace athlete that you could use. And you've heard me say a lot of these before, like very close to some of the other things we talked about. Like I talk about shaking it off if compete level and that's probably one of the last things I should talk about. But as an athlete or anything that you do, you have to have that compete in you, the ability to compete all the time. And to me that starts with resiliency, you know, to shake it off. Mindset reflects a resilient attitude, bouncing back from a bad play or a setback or something that has happened or something that could have happened at work. It's having that resiliency to do it. Emotional processing. While we shake off the mindset, encourage us to move forward. It doesn't mean, you know, letting our emotions get in the way, but really what it does, it's the, it's, it's the important to acknowledge and process your feelings in a healthy way before going off the, you know, the deep end or getting mad or kicking the door or anything. Just, just process a little bit. Process these things. I talked about this a lot. It's adaptability. The mindset embraces adaptability. Life is filled with ups and downs. Every day we go through it. If you're an athlete you could be in a slump. If you're a workplace athlete, you could have had a very tough week. Nothing is going right, but we're talking about shaking it off and using those tools to do it. That's why we love our community@the healthymindsetapp.com not www but healthymindsetapp.com you may have heard me say in the past Hartman Academy, it takes you right there. But we have a community that all of us work together for group coaching and we practice a lot of these things. And you've heard me say this so many times. But mindfulness, practicing mindfulness is essential. Part of shaking it off. The shake it off mindset I call it involves being aware of your emotions, thoughts and reactions in the present moment without getting overly attached to them. Okay, how am I going to shake this off? I'm not going to let it sit there. I talked to one athlete and he had a couple bad games in a row when he's played that game in his head night after night and I told him it's going to exhaust you. That's going to tire you out. Now you just played four games instead of two. Shake it off. The positive outlook. It's easy to say but if you work on it and you bring that energy in, bring that positive outlook on life instead of dwelling on negatives or the past. We all do it. I do it. I'm a coach. Coach needs a coach. But I dwell on things and you learn from your experiences and how you can continue to grow and thrive. And just this will lead into my Now I'm going to say letting go. That's the next one I want to talk about. So just let it go. Easy to say that, but the mindset involves letting go of the past, not allowing it to hold you back. Sometimes we like to dwell on our past, even our things that we did really well. Boy, I used to be this. I used to be a CEO at one time and now I'm not working there. I used to be an athlete and we're all athletes. But I used to be a great college athlete. Now I'm playing, I'm a weekend warrior. But we always have to learn to let it go. So move forward, focus on really what's important. Solution oriented. When faced with challenges, the shake off mindset encourages the solution oriented approach. So instead of dwelling on problems, you focus on finding solutions and taking proactive steps and in what you're doing. So self compassion. I try to make these like try to do this around six or seven minutes for everybody. So you take these tips with you every day because it becomes overwhelming when you get so many different things thrown at you. But I've said this so many times. But self compassion While the shake it off approach mindset promotes moving forward, it also encourages self compassion. Treat yourself with respect, really be kind to yourself, not so hard on yourself. I was playing pickleball the other day with somebody and every, every, every serve every. Ah, darn it man. Why did I darn it? Like, oh boy, I should have done this better. Shake it off. It's okay, just go ahead. It's not going to change your life. Shake it off. So Growth Mindset. We talk about that in our book the Healthy Mindset for Athletes and Workplace Athletes. The growth Mindset Embracing a growth mindset is closely related to shake it off mentality. A growth mindset sees challenges as opportunities, not anything negative and also the improvement rather than the fixed mindset, which is also in our which is in our book and in our program on our healthymindsetapp.com course that you get healthy coping mechanism. So we have all these tools that could help you. One of them here I can give you is the shake it off mindset could serve as a healthy coping mechanism for managing stress and adversity. We have the tools to do that we could use. We can give you tools and help you. It also helps prevent accumulation of negative emotions, encourages a more balanced emotional state. So it's it's worth nothing that the shake it off mindset doesn't mean ignoring or forgetting different challenges, but it's developing that resiliency that I talked about earlier and adapting to different things and have that mindset to move forward and take on challenges. And we're here to do it. You're not alone. Our community will help you. I'm here to help you even through here. I hope this helps.
