This next segment, we're going to talk about habits and how important it is for you within your business, whether you're the employer, the employee, the owner of the company, that you implement good everyday habits into yourself. Because before you could start managing others, you have to manage yourself or even with the employee. It's so important to that you incorporate these habits so you could be on your game. And I'll use I like to share by telling a story. And I worked with one of the major banks and I worked with 160 of the top executives, from the top all the way down to the top, 160 from the CEO down. And the first thing that we implemented was creating good habits or rituals, something that is habitual. Getting up in the morning, taking care of things. We tell people the first thing you do is you get up and make your bed, develop that good habit. Maybe some of you do, as crazy as it sounds, and I've mentioned this before on our podcast that I talked to a Navy SEAL and that's the first thing they do in the morning is get up, make their bed, start off by doing something right in the morning, but get into these habits of having breakfast, exercising, taking care of yourself, adding these good habits into your business. Now when we talk about rituals, I'm not talking about people will argue about rituals. They say, well, that's not a ritual. A ritual is when, you know, like in sports, if a team dances around after a touchdown or that's a ritual. But I look at things a little bit different. A ritual to me is reading a self help book. What is a ritual to you? And we could help you and give you some of these ideas on how to incorporate rituals into your life and good habits. How about at lunchtime, you know, in the if you're working in an office, sometimes people will have a snack and by 2 o' clock you're ready to take a nap. So we want to implement these good things into your, into your practice, into your business, into your, you know, whether you work with a large company, a big company, it doesn't matter. You have to have good habits. So going back to the bank, we started off working with several of these top Executives from the CEO down. And we created, like in the beginning, we talked about in the first section, a plan. The plan was to get up early in the morning, you brush your teeth, you take care of yourself, you make sure that you're polished and you're feeling good about yourself. The next thing we would focus in on, okay, we want you to do some sort of stretching or, or body movement or exercising. And a lot of people will say, well, I don't have time, I have to get my kids to school, I have to get ready. I'm always behind, well, maybe get up a little bit earlier and we'll talk about even going to bed earlier if you can, in ways to help you with your sleep as well. So this is something that you can implement is a good habit. The third thing is even making sure that you're, that you're fully prepared for the day, being fully present, getting in a habit of being present. So once you do these things, you, you get to your place of work, be fully present, work on things like you're listening. And people say, well, how can I work on listening? Well, you can because there's different types of listeners I've noticed working with, with different groups. Like I've, I've mentioned earlier in the, the last segment that I've worked with dentists. Well, sometimes the dentist are sometimes a lot of dentists while they'll, they're listening, but sometimes they're really not listening. So you want to be that type of listener. And one thing I've learned over the years, it's okay to be a dramatic listener. And what is a dramatic listener really? Engaging. Making eye contact with could be your co worker, it could be a customer and really listening what they have to say and engaging with good feedback. I'm not saying be fake, but these are habits that you could work on that's going to do what, it's going to bring good energy into the people you're working with. So if you're in sales and you look like you're disheveled in the morning, you're tired, you're exhausted, you're not taking care of yourself, you're rushing, someone's talking to you. I worked with an automotive company and I one times walked into the business and the customer was trying to explain something to the person in the automotive shop and they weren't listening, listen, because it's going to help you with within your business. These are habits you could work on. That dramatic listener I talked about is engaging. Someone asks you, hey, how you're doing? Well, how are you? How are your kids? And again, not being fake, but being authentic. And that's going to bring good energy in. We do it in sports. I talk to athletes all the time. Well, I'm not playing as much. Well, you know what? Get in the habit of bringing good energy into the dressing room, congratulating your teammates. It's easy to be jealous. People get jealous of other athletes. I know you might be competing against somebody for that spot. It doesn't matter. Bringing good energy in. I'll tell one more quick story. And I had an athlete, a really good one at a very high level that was negative and down. And I said, well, just work on a few little things and we're going to get to that in the last chapter. We're going to have a little mind map for you in chapter 10. But develop this little map for yourself where you could draw this attention. That's going to be a positive energy to the team. And let's list three things that you could do that's positive on a daily basis that's going to help you create better habits for yourself. And overall, it's going to make everybody else successful. Looking forward to working with everybody. With this section here, you can go down to the corner of our page. You, you'll see it on the left side of Hartman Academy.
