I didn't know it was illegal to mail poop, but actually imagine, you know, shipping a box of poop to someone that you actually like versus someone you don't like.
And it wasn't stress. It wasn't an antibiotic that I needed. It wasn't steroids. I actually had to treat my immune system. And we recognized that my immune system was triggered because of the chemicals that I was exposed to on my farm.
You know, I've been doing peptides for my gut, and I've got a normal gut, and I only have half my guts. I have half. Half my colon, half my rectum. If it works for me, it'll work for anyone, right?
Hey, everyone, this is Mike Koenigs.
I'm here today with Reagan Archbold. Nice to be here.
The peptide expert, right?
That's right.
So what are thought leaders and leading life extension experts like Dr. David Sinclair, Tony Robbins, Peter Diamandis, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Benjamin Bickman, Ben Greenfield, Dr. Rhonda Patrick, and Dan Sullivan know that you don't know about life extension, health extension, and longevity? Well, you're about to get a massive download of the latest in diagnostics treatments, peptides, biohacks, and longevity secrets that could extend or save your life. And speaking for myself, it has for me. So ever since I had cancer 10 years ago, I've been completely obsessed with three things. Number one, making sure nobody in my family ever has to go through what I did, which is surgery, chemo, radiation, and the after effects. Number two, never getting it again. And then number three, increasing. Increasing my health span, my lifespan is less important to me. I just want to make sure I have a high quality of life before I drop. Now, one of the things that Reagan and I talked about before we started today is this idea of having a partner for life. And that's like your body is your number one partner, followed by your spouse or significant other. And then number three, who's your guide? Who's your doctor, who's your mentor, who's the expert that you can go to, who can help diagnose, treat, predict, and prevent any kind of health condition before it happens, and then extend your life until we can actually reverse aging. So that's why I brought in peptide expert. The peptide expert, Reagan Archibald. Now, he's a walking encyclopedia for regenerative resources, tools, shortcuts, hacks, and he's my number one guy for diagnostics and early detection. So my goal in doing this interview for you today is to give you a roadmap. The resources tools that you can start using immediately. And one of the things that Reagan does exceptionally well is he works also in groups. So I have one quick story before I officially bring him on that was I brought him to one of my longevity experiences where I just get a whole bunch of people together and I give them access to resources and tools. So every single person got a blood test, and the next day Reagan came in and he gave everyone who wanted it a full blood panel analysis. So think of it like having your tarot cards read, except it's for real, but you got to look at your results and you could tell exactly what was going on, what you're experiencing, and how to fix it. And in real time. Reagan was there giving everyone a solution like, take this, do this. He had a lineup of peptide treatments and all kinds of things. And we did talk a lot about peptides. And for example, there's peptides for stress, anxiety, boosting your energy, sleep, pain, weight loss, stamina and flexibility, and a lot more. So ever since I started working with Reagan and his team six months ago, I feel like I'm in my 30s again. And most people who know me say I look better and younger now at 56 than I did 15 years ago. So what I asked them to do today is come prepared and break down some of the most common labs that are representative of high performing business owners, entrepreneurs, and their significant others. And that way you'll be able to experience what I have and many people that I've referred to them have. And when you stick around, you're going to get a couple of really cool things that Reagan's put together, including something called the Fitness 50 benchmarks. This is a way to test your own longevity and find out how long you're going to live and then what to change so you'll live longer. And then over the course of this interview, I guarantee you're going to walk away with some of the best longevity life extension and health extension hacks, plus a transcript, show notes and links. So with that, Regan, awesome to have you here today, my friend, and so.
Good to be here.
Yeah. All right.
Thanks for the introduction.
You're welcome. You're welcome. Well, we spent a lot of time thinking about that, and I've been looking forward to this interview for a long time as well. So thanks, by the way, for taking care of Vivian before the cameras are rolling.
Oh, my pleasure.
Yeah, it's great. So I thought the way we would begin today is you have a brand new test that we talked about that would have saved me a lot of time And a lot of pain not too long ago, like two weeks ago, and then a month before that. So why don't you tell a little bit about what that is?
Well, it's a stool test. And so one of the. The big things that we look at is what's the health of the biome in your gut. And traditionally, you had to do a test where you'd collect your stool over three different days and you had to get off everything. Now we have a new test. It's a simple wipe. You send it in. It's one day, it's one and done. And it's so simple, so easy. And I'm really excited about it.
Yeah, Yeah, I know it's exciting to be excited about poop, but here's what's up. Here's what's really funny, because the hassle I had was I got this box of stuff. I didn't fully read the instructions, and I froze my poop. And then I was like, hey, is that going to be okay? And they're like, no, it's not okay. We have to send you a new box. So I got a new box. And. And I'm not going to talk about all the gory details here, but it's just not fun to play with poop.
It's not.
And I didn't know it was illegal to mail poop. But actually imagine, you know, shipping a box of poop to someone then you actually like versus someone you don't like. Anyway, having to do it twice is not fun. And I love the idea. It's just like wipe and mail. Yeah, that's pretty hooky. We might have to stick with that. But anyway, it's really good. So I thought. The other thing we do is you've got a great story that we talked about earlier, and it is so illustrated of the work you do. So take it away. Share that little story.
Yeah. So if you imagine yourself walking in a room, a room, and there's three fishbowls on the table. You look at one fishbowl, and it's murky water. The fish is barely alive in there. And it's stinky. I mean, you can smell it. The other fishbowl next to it is pristine, clean fishbowl. The fish is bright and shiny. It's energetic, it's vibrant. I mean, it's just, you know, eludes health. The third fishbowl, it's all clean around it, but something's off with the fish. Like, I don't really know what's going on with that fish, but it needs help. So there's two of these fishbowls that need help. What do we do? And this is exactly what's going on right now with people I see is you look at what we have in our society are a bunch of people in really rough environments where their bodies are toxic. And the way that we treat that is we give them medication. So it's kind of like, you look at that fishbowl that's all murky and dirty, and it's like, well, the fish is suffering in there. Let's give him some omeprazole for his acid reflux. Oh, how about. He's probably depressed because the environment's pretty rough that he's in. How about some Prozac? And we'll throw in some Xanax for the anxiety. Right. Hypertension. Here's a hypertensive med. High cholesterol. How about a statin? So. So essentially, that's the way that we're treating the body. The. The middle fishbowl. Fishbowl number two. Yeah, that. That fish is great. It's got a great environment. It's eating the right foods. Everything's optimized. But. But I think the one. The fish that we'll probably talk about today the most is the fishbowl number three, which was where I found myself. And this is where in my early childhood, I grew up on a farm in Idaho. The interesting thing about that is this is when Roundup became massive. I mean, our. Our yields were huge. But I'd be moving sprinkler pipes and planes would come and crop dust the field, and I'd get soaked in the stuff. Oh, free shower, no problem. Probably stinky anyway. And. And I didn't really think anything of it until I started getting psoriasis and eczema. And I knew.
And how old were you when this was happening?
Oh, I was, you know, kind of like teens. Like, 15, 14, 15. And then I seemed to do okay. And then when I got. You know, the one thing I did realize, though, is, is, you know, we had a cattle ranch, about a thousand head of cattle. And I said, I want to be anything but a farmer when I grow up. You know, it was great hanging out with my uncle, my dad, but holy smokes, I had another uncle who was a doctor. And I said, I want to be like Lester J. He's kind of. He's a badass. I mean, he was. He had the lifestyle. He. He seemed really gentle. He seemed happy. So that's what I wanted to do. So I. I went to the University of Utah, studied pre medicine. But when I was there, that's when my health really started to collapse and I found myself falling asleep in the back of the class. I couldn't think clearly except for about two hours of the day. My digestive system was wrecked. And the doctors that I went to, you know, is the same thing I got when I was a kid. More antibiotics, more steroids, similar to fish number one, right? It's like, oh, here, let's. You're not feeling good, here's some medication. But because I looked healthy, I was dismissed and told, you're too stressed. And so what I ended up doing was going to an acupuncturist and naturopathic doctor who ran the right labs for me. And I think this is a real key component that a lot of you out there, you've never actually looked at things deeper and you might be missing something very important if you're just doing your annual physical. I find the annual physical, it's a little bit better than the mere fog test, but it's really just intended to diagnose real big things that are going on. And how many times do you hear, well, let's just watch and wait. Your triglycerides are a little high. We're going to watch and wait. Or your hemoglobin A1C is creeping up. Let's just watch and wait. But fortunately, I went to a doctor who ran labs were much more comprehensive. I got the right test and I was eventually diagnosed with Hashimoto's. So my thyroid peroxidase antibodies, for those nerds out there who know what this is, it was, it's about 680. So my thyroid was being attacked. And I realized then it wasn't stress, it wasn't an antibiotic that I needed, it wasn't steroids. I actually had to treat my immune system. And we recognized that my immune system was triggered because of the chemicals that I was exposed to on my farm. So then that's when I changed direction. I ended up studying in a school in Hawaii, learning from Earl. Earl Bakken, the inventor of the pacemaker, founded a school where he said, we can prevent pacemakers. We don't. People don't need them. We need preventative medicine. And so I was able to study in an environment like that. Spent four years in Hawaii after my pre med program. And it was an incredible experience.
It's awesome. And I will tell you, I haven't shared this with you before. So first of all, one of the big comparisons between the typical tests like After I had cancer and I go see my oncologist, I'd get like, a routine blood test. So they draw blood and they come back with some results. And I'd have like, maybe 12 to 20 markers. So what you guys have, for example, are 80 different markers. And this is not uncommon. When you look at, I'll call it traditional medicine versus integrative, is the level of detail that you're being looked at. So you can't see going back to the fishbowl in the third fishbowl, even though it looks clear and clean, you're not doing the deep work to find out what's really in the environment in the equivalent of, I guess, your immune system, you know, it's protecting you. And then the other thing that I will tell you, that this is the part I haven't shared with you. So I grew up, I had a graduating class In Minnesota of 63, and out of my graduating class, four of us have had colorectal cancer. Now, my. Where I grew up, just like you, okay, so I had a soybean field in the front of me, alfalfa in the back, corn to the east and corn to the west. So. And they're rotating corn and soybeans. And of course, there's crop dusters every year everywhere. And when we were kids, we used to follow the tractors around while they're spraying and try to grab snakes and lizards and stuff. So there's no doubt in my mind that, you know, out of four out of 63 with colorectal cancer before were 50, man, maybe there's something going on here. So I just wanted to relate that because that's. I mean, when you think about all the stuff that's in our water system now and the. The occurrence and. And, you know, the amount of issues that are coming up. So that's just the diagnostic part. But let's. Let's move on. I don't know if you have any other comments before I ask you my next question.
No, I. I think it's. It's interesting because that. That fishbowl number three, you know, and this is where a lot of entrepreneurs find themselves is they're like, well, I'm. I'm pretty healthy. I've been able to push really hard. I'm a high performer. You know, I'm in my 50s, my 60s, and. And, you know, it's really when things start to show up symptomatically is when it's too late. And so hopefully the message today is like, actually start looking at these things, because if you're in fishbowl number three. No one's going to take you seriously. And, and we're actually going to look under the COVID No matter how chiseled your six pack might be very good.
So one of the things that we've got a lot of hacks we're going to reveal today in addition to the diagnostics. So you're known as the peptide expert. That's one of your domains atthe peptide expert.com. why don't you talk a little bit about what are peptides? Why are they important? Why are you so fascinated with them? And you know, just give us a, a quick, quick examinations, Dive deep.
Sure. I love peptides because they're pleiotropic and that's a fancy word for their multifaceted. They open up lots of different pathways. Drugs are typically small molecules and they'll suppress one area of the body or they'll activate a single pathway. When you do that, it's pulling away from an energy source somewhere else in your body and side effects are bound to show up. You know, like take a statin, for example. You're going to get CoQ deficiency, right? So your enzymes are going to drop. But with peptides, the thing I love about them, there's no toxic burden. I mean, there's been studies where you can prescribe almost 100 times the typical dose. Your body just excretes what it doesn't need. The beautiful thing about peptides, too is it's already what's inside of your body. And so they bind right on the receptor side of the cell and then they activate a genetic program. So, you know, imagine that you could just go into your cel cells and reprogram what's not working. That's what I love about peptides is we can do that in a way that's very safe. It's effective. But it, there's not side effects that come along with it that you'd have with drugs or even with, with nutraceuticals. You and I were talking about this earlier is, you know, people are swallowing handfuls of pills and yeah, they're. We perceive them to be good for you, but I don't know if you're Magnesium deficient or B12 deficient. I don't know what your vitamin D levels are. And so many people are taking a lot of. Might be doing more harm than good, especially if you consider the fillers in a lot of those, those vitamins and supplements.
Yeah, it's great. And one of the things I don't know if you, you covered this, some of the stats on how many peptides we know about, how many have been sequenced, how many have been FDA approved, but also how people buy it by them as well, some of the risks.
So the first peptide ever sequenced was insulin and life saving. Right. I mean, it was, that was a big deal over 100 years ago. Since then we've identified there's probably about 7,000 in nature and about 10% of those have been sequenced. And then of those, there's 286 that are FDA approved for specific conditions. Pharmaceutical companies have come and bought a lot of the patents on peptides, put a drug affinity complex on it, made it their own. But the peptides we use, they come from a compounding pharmacy. 4 out of 5 peptides that people tend to use right now are from the black market, meaning you go online and you can find a source and some are better than others, but your quality is going to be compromised. And there could be some safety concerns too. So we use only compounded pharmacies. Who. We can get peptides in most states, but that's typically where we get them.
Yeah, that's great because ever since I started taking them, the first time I really took them.
Was when I broke my collarbone and I was in excruciating pain for months and nothing would help. You know, painkillers didn't work, I couldn't sleep, it was just horrible. And I started taking them. In this case, it was BPC157 and TB500, which I know you'll get into what those are and what that means. And I noticed a change within.
Eight days, 12 days later, 90% of my pain was gone. It was unbelievable. And that's when I was sold and I really started to dive deep. So ever since then, about three years into using peptides, I'd say it, out of all the things I've ever done, health wise, it's had the most profound effect on me. And now that you're giving me.
Scheduled doses and we've got a plan, I've just noticed a huge difference in my, my gut, which has always been problematic, especially for the past 10 years. Body pain. I have no joint pain now. No. And including my shoulder where I've had serious damaged knees. So I'm forever grateful. But maybe what we could do is dive into just a little bit of deconstructing how you do diagnostics tests and then create plans and prescriptions and why you do what you do. Because I think for everyone here, my outcome for you As a listener reviewer, is that you can first of all recognize yourself in one of the.
Breakdowns. We'll call them avatars in this interview and say, yep, that's just like me. And also when you talk a little bit about what you see in the blood and what it means, and then what that means in terms of here's what we do and in what order, because decoding this stuff I found, I mean, it's incredibly overwhelming. And I'll give you a shameless plug for your book, Never Stop Healing. This is a great book. There's a lot of material in here. But for someone who just doesn't understand decoding and knowing what to believe, where to get stuff from, it's not only overwhelming, you can do stupid stuff that can put you back very quickly if you just, you know, again, these are not easy to digest. But once you get in the groove and you learn the language, then it starts making sense and it becomes.
Well, plus when you see the results.
Yeah.
So I'm going to stop talking and, and pass it on to you, but I'm. I'm really curious to just get into the deconstruction.
Yeah. So the very first thing it starts with is a blood lab. And it's the simplest thing because you look at a blood lab from a conventional medicine perspective, and they're basing your health on 90% of the population fitting into a specific category. So I look around in America, and two thirds of Americans are either overweight or obese. Almost the same amount have at least one or more chronic diseases. So it's not really an accurate assessment of health. And so, you know, I look at optimization in your labs, and so I can look at a marker like alkaline phosphatase. And you can. And if you have your labs in front of you, guys can pull these out because we'll. We'll just go through a bunch of markers. Alkaline phosphatase will show you if you've got a zinc deficiency, if it's low, or if you've got, you know, some kind of leaky gut or intestinal permeability. You can even look at your fingernails right now. And if you've got little white spots on them, there's a good chance you're zinc deficient and you've got some leaky gut. So what peptide would we use? Well, that could be BPC 157 that Mike talked about. Not only is it regenerative, it's, you know, it's got angiogenic properties. It helps decrease Pain, but it's really good for the intestinal barriers and really good for the gut. And that's actually where it's made. It's made from gastric secretions in your stomach. So.
Right.
So really powerful. But then look at some other markers in your labs. You know, hemoglobin A1C insulin resistance is, is just, I mean, it's an all time epidemic right now in our country and I think it's the real.
That's means you're pre, pre diabetic.
Exactly.
Right.
Yeah.
And, and I actually have high glucose diabetes, runs in my family and right now I'm pretty cut and thin. And just because you're thin doesn't mean you, you might not be pre diabetic.
Right.
And you might not even notice it. So I think this is a really important distinction is even if you think you look good, even if you think you're healthy, it doesn't mean that you have a. First of all, you might have something that's undiagnosed. It's something that your immune system's doing its work or.
It just hasn't been detected or you haven't become symptomatic yet.
Yes.
So that I think is the big reveal that I really want to reinforce.
Right.
But keep going. So what would you do? Let's, so let's say you've got the pre diabetic. I can't remember the scientific term you use.
Yeah. So your hemoglobin A1C, you know, it's, it's trending above 5.5 is, is where we, we want it to be between 5.0, 5.5. We'd look at C peptide, we'd look at your insulin, your fasting insulin, your glucose. And these are all important markers because we can see what grade of variant you are as far as how far along the pathway, how hard will it be to correct this? So we may use a peptide like semaglutide. And you've been using that semaglutide and it's freaking amazing.
So do the science and then I'll give you my testimonial for what's happened. Okay. All right.
So it's a glucagon, like peptide. So it's a GLP1 agonist. And, and glucagon is a really important hormone that helps stabilize blood sugar and your pancreas. If it's inflamed at all, if it's underperforming, you're not going to get the same secretions of these, these hormones to counterbalance insulin. So by using this peptide, what the clinical research shows, and this was, it went through all three phases of the clinical trials at the FDA and was approved last year in 21. But it actually had the same amount or similar amount of weight loss in the participants who use semaglutide, as did bariatric surgery for weight loss. So people are losing 25 to 30% of their body weight. We're seeing a decrease in their hemoglobin A1C, which is really important in some cases a complete reversal of diabetes. Also, there is the pioneer study where they found it's really good for the cardiovascular system as well. So it's got some cardio protective benefits.
Yeah. So speaking for myself, so full disclosure, I went on this.
I think at first he gave it to me maybe six weeks ago or so, four to six weeks. And if I remember correctly, we cycle on. Is it on for two weeks, off for a week?
That's what we like. Yeah.
Yeah. Yep. So I've gone through two cycles now, so I guess I'll call it six to eight weeks.
Yep.
And if you look at me from two months ago, I definitely dropped at least 15 pounds. But if you just look at my belly, which I hesitate right now because I'm wearing shorts, but I could lift up my shirt. I'll just do it so you can see my belly. I'll do it for the camera.
This is.
This is watching. All right, here we go.
Yeah, let's see it. Mike. There's Magic Mike. Look at that. That's impressive.
So that's 56.
Yeah.
And.
I did not look like that when I walked by the mirror. 6. Six weeks ago, for sure.
Right.
So I would say, out of anything I've ever done, this is the. And I don't work out a ridiculous amount. I haven't been lately because I've been traveling a lot. But out of everything I've ever done, this is the simplest, fastest way to just melt away fat effortlessly. I know of. And the way the experience. First of all, you don't feel anything. It's a simple injection. Do it once a day.
No, no, no. Once a week.
Once a week.
Do not do it once. Don't do it every day.
Sorry about that. Yeah, sorry about that. Once a week. Thank you for the correction. And. And what happened was I would definitely feel a little bit.
I just feel full during the day. Yeah. I just don't have my normal appetite. And I didn't feel like eating like I normally would. I'd just be like, man, I'M gonna skip a meal. So I'm, I felt full. And the, the other thing that's great is, is like I say, you just start slimming down. And I haven't noticed any other.
I don't know if there's any other side effects that you can talk about.
And one of the reasons we have people cycle on, cycle off because the, the trials, they had patients on this for 68 weeks.
How many?
68 weeks. Okay. And once again, it's, it's a different perspective on the way that we use peptides. Is, is we're looking at optimizing the metabolic function in your body. I'm not trying to treat weight loss per se, or blood sugar dysregulation with semaglutide. What I'm trying to do is remind your body how to stimulate fat metabolism. And so by, by cycling you on and off that eliminate some of the side effects, which are nausea because there's some delayed gastric emptying. Some patients can get, you know, constipation or loose stools. So our dose is very low. And, and I find, you know, it's dose dependent based on the person. But, but we try to optimize your body so that you're not getting in that, that pathway where you're stuck on peptides for the rest of your life. So because you're going to need to refeed. Right. Your thyroid can get really hammered if you're in a fasted state all the time.
Yeah. Yeah. And this is again simple, painless, I mean literally effortless. And, and I don't feel like I'm going without. The other interesting byproduct I told you about this last night is I like, I like a good cocktail. Just haven't felt like drinking.
Yeah.
So I noticed some cravings just went away. Like I have a little snack oftentimes at night, just haven't been in the mood. So just get rid of cravings is also a nice side effect. I don't know if that's common or not either.
It's very common. I tell people there's only so much willpower to go around. Benjamin Hardy wrote a great book, Willpower Doesn't Work. It's so true. And especially when it comes to alcohol cravings, sugar craving, food cravings, especially when you're stressed. And that's your kind of go to for nurturing and calming down. There's, there's nothing like peptides for it. And semaglutide is just one of many.
Yes, yes. That's the, I think the Big thing. And we've only covered a couple so far. But you know, what I like is, you know, every month I get a new box of goodies from you and your team. And, you know, I meet with someone on, you know, a quick 20 minute conversation. They tell me what to do, check in, you know, how are you doing? How are you feeling?
What's been the experience? I don't feel like I'm doing anything wrong. No one's shaming me because I forgot, you know, I'm not a great meditator. It's like, are you meditating? You're doing stressed stuff? No, I haven't been doing that. Okay, move on to the next thing. But it's like, check in, see where we are and what are we going to do? And I can reach out and say, well, here's what I'm feeling like and let's modify this. And you've given me a couple modifications along the way too. So with that. Hey, this is Mike Koenigs. Sorry to interrupt the podcast, but if you're an action taker and ready to transform and reinvent yourself and your business, go to connecttomike.com to learn more and book a conversation with me right now. All right, back to the episode. Any comments? First of all, in that last little bit before I move on, and I want to kind of rapid fire.
You know, look at different profiles and talk about typical people you're working with. So first of all, anything else about the treatment that we're just talking about?
No, I think that just the one caveat with peptides, a lot of doctors just use a single peptide and that's it. They would just prescribe semaglutide or bpc. What I found is that if you stack peptides, you know, two, three, four, you know, I'll do nine to 12 a day, just like you.
Yep.
And that you're going to get a much better effect from it. And so but you've got to know when to stack them, when to cycle off, cycle on. And so there's some, there's a wrong way to do it and then there's a right way. So.
Yeah, no, that's really good. And I know, for example, Vivian has reactions to some of those and you were just talking about it today. So she, her body doesn't like needles.
Right.
It's one of those things. And there are some peptides that are oral as well. So even if you're needle phobic, which really you get over in two days, but this is so easy. But it's just a matter of being shown what to do, how to do it, having that. That rhythm, that pattern in the sequence, like you said. So let's go through. Let's deconstruct a really typical founder entrepreneur that you see. So without naming names, can we kind of create a character here and describe what you typically see and then what you prescribe and in what order?
Sure, yeah, absolutely. Yeah. So, you know, you take somebody who's.
You know, I work with a lot of founders, a lot of entrepreneurs who are individuals who push themselves for decades. You know, I think of Bill. This. This was a. A patient of mine. I'm. I'm changing his name, so I hope I don't mess up. But he came, he had osteoarthritic knees. He was, you know, ready to sell his business. He said, look, I've got to golf again. That was his. That was a big motivator. And he said, but my belly's in the way. I can barely tie my shoes. Yeah, and my energy's down. He just didn't really have the stamina, didn't have the motivation, you know, just wasn't really interested in sex. And that concerned him because he's always been, you know, pretty. Pretty randy.
So the man with the cha cha.
Yeah, exactly. Surprise. Right? So as we started working with him, we found that, yeah, there's some therapies we did for his knees. We got him out of pain, got him golfing again. But the biggest thing is he realized that it was food that he had the emotional attachment to. And so he, you know. You know, Jenny, you know, Andy on our team, they worked with him on that. We ran the right labs. We found out that not only did he have some IBS issues that he didn't even disclose in the beginning.
Is a guy super common, man. I can't tell you how many. How many founders I talk to, and they've got gut issues. And when I tell them that, you know, I've been doing peptides for my gut, and I've got a normal gut, and I only have half my guts. I have half. Half my colon, half my rectum. If it works for me, it'll work for anyone.
Right?
Okay. I just wanted to interject that because that's like, I talked to so, so many founders, and. And they've got ibs. They're. They're. It's crippling for him.
It's so crippling. And this was. This was his life. But he looked at it as, oh, it's just a weekend Thing because when his nervous system was pulled back, his guts were just wrecked, you know, And. And so as we worked with him, he slowly started losing weight. He had to. He had some major lifestyle things. We gave him a peptide called Celan, and Celanq is a nasal spray, and it's like a natural benzodiazepine. It works on the GABA receptors in the brain. So suddenly he starts, you know, feeling more like himself. We gave him a little oxytocin, and it changed his whole outlook on life. And then we got him on epitalin, so his sleep patterns were better. Got the stress out of his body. And he kept saying, when are we going to work on my weight? And I'm like, well, we got. We've got some upstream work to do before we start.
Let's fix your brain first. Get rid of the sad. Make sure you're sleeping better. Yeah, exactly. Good. Yeah. And Slink is awesome, by the way. I've been doing that. Let's see. You gave that to me about month ago, maybe. Yeah, yeah. That one's great.
It's a beautiful peptide. I love it. Yeah. But it wasn't until about month two is when he started noticing the weight come up. So. And so I remember he came in, it was like 90 days after he started, and he's like, look at my belly. He's kind of like you. He pulls up his shirt. I'm like, look, looks good, buddy. Because he had the Santa Claus belly rocking and his cardiovascular markers. That's the thing is he was on about six medications, and unfortunately.
And what were they? Just. So we have kind of a.
Well, he was on. Well, first of all, his Pepto Bismol when he was, you know, on the weekends. But as far as prescriptions, you know, statin for high cholesterol. He's. He's on hypertensive med. He had to take omeprazole because he's getting the acid reflux, you know, proton pump inhibitor. Yeah. I can't remember all the medications he was. But it's basically just medications for cardiovascular function. He was. He was not diabetic, but I was surprised that he never actually. When we ran his labs, I'm like, I'm surprised you never got put on metformin at least, because his hemoglobin A1C was 6.2.
Okay, okay. All right. So the net. Net is.
And just to give people a sense on, like, you, you sort of mentioned this, that you'll prescribe multiple peptides at once, and then your program is seven months Long. So can you describe, like, what goes on and why Seven months? Why is that a good time period? And what kind of results you saw at the end? So obviously the weight loss, he's feeling better. I like to say if the fat guy you walk past in the mirror is you and you go, ugh, it's time to talk to. It's time to talk to someone about that.
Yeah, give me a call. I can help you.
Yeah, you notice who's the dude with moobs? He just walked by. Hey, that's me. All right.
Yeah. So. So the, the, the peptides that we use, the stacks, it's all dependent. The reason why we found seven months are critical because we have three phases. So there's a reset. So the reset phase is where we start helping people feel better. So if you think about Bill, sometimes he wanted to go right to let's lose weight. Let's, you know, and we said, well, we got to get you out of pain. Otherw has a really hard time losing weight. If you're in pain, it's just, you know, you're fighting against cortisol and it's. It's a losing battle every time. So. But then we also had to disengage his amygdala. So I find a lot of entrepreneurs are in this kind of subtle fight or flight mode, almost like ptsd and they don't realize it.
Yeah, totally.
I call it cash flow. Ptsd. You know, they've had so many ups and downs, they have people quit there and, you know, they're, you know, they're up against the wall and so many days of their life.
And 20 years of that'll get you.
It gets to you.
I know.
Have you been there? I don't. Yeah.
Oh, my God. Almost killed me three times.
You know, so otherwise no big deal, right? It's easy.
Whatever. Whatever, for sure. Okay.
But yeah. So if. If I can get them through the reset phase and actually start resetting their entire central nervous system, that's when they start sleeping better, feeling better, and their body can heal. Then we move on to phase two. So this is. These are 60 day cycles. Phase two is really where we go into the recharge. And, and the recharge is where you start looking your best. And that's where a lot of the weight loss will happen. You start noticing better muscle improvements. We're big into fitness and cardiovascular health, endurance. You know, biohacking really gets introduced here. So you can recharge some of the mitochondria in your cells, turn the Light up in the cells, essentially.
Yeah.
Once we get you through that 60 day process, then we go into phase three, which is the restore phase. And the restore phase is really where we're opening up those mitochondrial pathways that lead to longevity. We do a lot of gut work along the way, but it's kind of that phase three in the restorative phase is where we restore all the good bacteria back in your gut. And what that means is better hormone production, better neurotransmitter production, less inflammation in your body, and it gives you some long term resiliency. And then we add an extra month because we know that there's things that, you know, there's delays from the pharmacy. There's, you know, sometimes we can't quite get the lab in in time, so we just. That's why we have it seven months instead of six.
Okay. And so.
After that you've got either maintenance or that's when you can start doing some more aggressive treatments as well. Yeah, and maybe I'll ask about that after another case study. So do you have another typical example of someone that you work with?
So another typical example is like, like the family boss. Right? The, you know, I'm sure there's mothers listening to this or, or, you know, spouses, people who run the household. And whether you work in the business or not, if you're in an entrepreneurial family, it's. Everybody's impacted by it.
Yeah, your three ring circus. That's what it is.
It's a three ring circus. Yeah, it's contagious, like.
Yeah, yeah.
And, and so this is, you know, I think of a patient named Nancy, and she's been working with us for a long time. But she came to see me because her cardiologist said, hey, you need a pacemaker. And she's like, oh, you've done some work with my friends on their cardiovascular health. I said, yeah, let's see what we can do. But first we ran her labs and as we looked at her labs, we found, sure enough, she was diabetic and undiagnosed diabetic. And by the way, 50% of people.
Who are walking around are undiagnosed from diabetes. There's about 35 million people in the United States have been diagnosed, another 35 million that have been undiagnosed. So it's a very dangerous condition to walk around with. But once we identified that, we started because she was, you know, 50 pounds overweight, she too, her knees were collapsing, her shoulders, her hips. I mean, she'd had about a dozen Kids, so that, you know, put some wear and tear on the body too. But holy smokes, the thing that happened is, and I don't see this very often when cardiologists. Actually, he took the time to write us a note that said, hey, I don't know what you did, but Nancy no longer has cardiovascular disease, doesn't need a pacemaker. And he sent in the new labs that he ran, and we just were like, so ecstatic. So I love seeing things like that. But if I look at somebody like Nancy, you know, she's. Her energy's dropping midday, she's trying to go to all the curves classes. She's trying to keep up with her busy husband and all her kids and grandkids, but she can't even go on a hike with them. She can't even, you know, she got to the place where her energy was so depleted. Yeah, her hair is falling out. We ran her thyroid labs, we got our thyroid fixed. But so many changes happen within that short period of time. But it was. It took us about three months. And then I said, okay, go see your cardiologist. If this is not working, then we need to figure out something else. And sure enough, she got a clean report. And she's been doing amazing. She's lost, actually about 40 pounds now. So she still has a ways to go, but doing so much better traveling again. She's got her vitality back. So. So, so, yeah, I think that, that a lot of the, that the family bosses get. Get missed in the healthcare journey.
Well, how about for.
Folks who might say, look, I'm already too old, too fat, too Whatever, my time's gone. Maybe this isn't going to work.
You know, is there a. Is there a cutoff point where peptides and some of the other integrative treatments that we'll reveal soon.
Right. Don't work for, you know, it really is a mindset. Right. And. And I do find people who, they've tried everything they said. Oh, I've worked with the world's top doctors. I. I can write the check. I've got access to my concierge doctor as well. And, and if he can't do it, I don't think anybody can. And, and that may be true, but the majority of people who come and see us once we run the labs, if we can't find a clear pattern, if we don't actually understand what direction to take, then, yeah, of course we won't take them on for. In our program. But we do find that we help people who are the Worst of the worst as well. People who are 50, 60, 70 pounds overweight, they push themselves for decades. They're on, you know, they're swallowing handfuls of medication. These are people. Absolutely, we can help. You know, I think of one of my patients. He's a lawyer, runs a big law firm, and you could imagine the stress level that had been imposed on him. Crazy thing about Fred is when he came in, I looked at him and I thought his head was going to explode. You've seen people like that, where they're so. Their body is just so swollen that it made me nervous. And I asked him, have you ever had a stroke? And I said, you're a trial lawyer. I mean, I would. I. I can feel it. You brought in that energy today. I said, hey, I'm just here to help. Like, you can bring in the hate.
Bring in the hate.
Feel free to interrogate me. I'm just a redneck from Idaho, so go for it. But, you know, as I started breaking him down, and you just. And. And not, you know, not just breaking down the barriers, I should say, and just say, hey, dude, you know, I'm just a relatable guy, just like you. Like, let's be real. And then he got to the place where, you know, his ego was so big, he never wanted to take care of his health. He said, look, I don't want a doctor telling me what to eat, what not to eat. I said, ah, it's up to you. Like, I'm not. I'm not gonna put a surveillance camera and a shot collar on you, even though I want to. But I can tell you by looking at your labs, you're a walking time bomb. Like, you could literally have a stroke when you walked out of here. You're actually a liability just being in my room right now. So just by looking at that and helping him understand that there is a point where it's too late. You know, 50% of heart attacks, the first symptom is death. And so you know him. I said, man, I would have loved to have met you 20 years ago. I couldn't imagine how much better your career would have been. Yeah, but. But I think as long as people take it serious and you and I actually had this conversation earlier, it's like, people who have had cancer reach out to you based on your experience, and then they don't do anything. They don't take action.
Yeah, no. And, you know, full disclosure, the part of the reason this came up is I had someone reach out to me today, and I met with Them a while ago, gave him resources. And I just got this call, stage four terminal, about to die. And it might just be, hey, I just want to feel good and talk to someone who's been through it. But I've. I've had a lot of people who I meet. I saw the warning signs. I'm at least clueless enough. Even though I'm not a doctor, I don't play one on the Internet or tv, that I give him resources. I'm like, you just got a warning shot.
Yeah.
You know, Jesus came down and gave you a blessing and an opportunity, and you can either take it or walk and die.
Right.
And I've, you know, I've seen enough people not take good advice and die that now, part of the reason I wanted you on and that I've been doing so much work with you is, is this is, in my estimation, in my opinion, the most easy, effective, painless way to reverse aging. Get rid of pain, lose weight. And what's great about it is every single quarter that I get my blood results now and look at them, I see a. I see a difference. I see a change. And. And I see when I'm being lazy or complacent, like, if I'm obviously going to Mexico for a long period of time and had more cocktails than normal.
I noticed.
I can tell.
You know, so could I. You can't.
Yeah. Ain't hiding behind. Ain't hiding behind the palm trees.
You see the alt and AST markers, Micah, you know.
That wasn't me. It wasn't me. Yeah, but. And. And it's all right. You know, so, like, a lot of people say. I'm not saying I agree with this, but you got to live, too. And I. But when you can speed up your recovery and you can live hard when you wanna. And be able to pop back from it or at least know what's going on and how it affects you.
Yeah.
And. But also know that there are some tools that, you know, it's like, I'm perfectly fine with a cocktail. I don't have to have five. Right. And just getting rid of the cravings or knowing them, observing them, just getting. I mean, you literally start to feel what's going on with your body. I can predict what my blood's going to look like now based on how I feel, and that took years. But these tools are remarkable. So let's go down another rabbit hole, which are some of the regenerative, some of the more advanced treatments. So we've, so far, we spent most of Our time talking about do blood work, then do peptides. But let's expand it to some of the other tests. So let's say we've been together seven months and I'm like, what else you got?
Right.
And maybe I've got joint issues. In my case, due to chemotherapy, my brain shrank. That showed up in the, in the brain test that we, we did MRI a month ago. And then there's long standing gut issues, any kind of other age reversal, sexual dysfunction. Let's just go down the arsenal of zones that you guys have assembled and created when people actually go in your facility.
Yeah. So, you know, we always look at innovative technology. You know, biohacking is a word that gets thrown around, but really what can you do to optimize your cellular health and your mental health? And we love, you know, light therapy, hot and cold exposure. I'm a big fan of jumping the Provo river all the time. I live in Utah and, and I love those types of things.
And so we're basically talking about the biohacking zone here.
Exactly. Facility, biohacking zone. But then what we couple with that is like, you're going to get some acupuncture, you're going to get some vitamin IVs. On the regenerative side of things, we've got some of the, the world's best doctors who do regenerative medicine. You know, we'll, we'll use some ultrasound guidance. We'll treat the knees, we can treat the shoulders, the hips. We can use any types of therapies that are available. You know, perinatal tissue is a big thing that we use from umbilical cords.
We find that that's where I can say the word but you can't. Right?
Yes. Okay.
So this is the thing that a lot of people don't like talking about. It's might have the word stem at the beginning, but there's a whole bunch of variations on this. And so now that I've kind of set that up for you, now you can go a little bit deeper for someone who need a little tip off here. Okay.
Yeah. So a lot of this medicine, I mean, cosmetic use is that's okay. Like we can use this for the skin, for the hair, the P shot, the O shot. Those are, those are commonly used terms for, you know, really rejuvenating their reproductive system, the reproductive gland.
And so just for everyone, that the P shot. Oh, shot. So for men, it just means you're going to see a remarkable difference and change generally in your performance. And for women it rejuvenates. It gives you a more youthful lady part.
Exactly. Better orgasms, just a difference in texture, less dryness, you know, especially if there's painful intercourse. It can be a life changing, relationship changing treatment.
Yeah, for sure.
And then I think with. Joints are huge. You know, I've. I'm an adrenaline junkie, used to race dirt bikes. I'm mountain biking all the time, going off drops, things like that. Lots of snowboarding, lots of skiing. So, you know, joints are really important to me because that's a big part of my lifestyle. So I'm working on my shoulders, working on my knees, working on my hips. But once again, it's just like we talked about. Fred, my patient, who is the lawyer. I mean, luckily he came just in time. But there's so many people who I've seen and their, their arthritis is just too far gone.
Yeah.
But you know, if you still got some functionality in those joints, get in and get those, those taken care of very quickly.
Yeah. And I will just put in my. So I had a torn, let's see, in the shoulders. The labrum. Damaged labrum. And then what's the other part? Rotator. Damaged rotator cuff. So I did stem cells and it got so bad I could not sleep on my left side of my body. Couldn't put my arm over my shoulder. And if I'd raise it up, I'd hear nine pops. It'd be like, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, pop. It was just like always in pain. And again, this is the kind of pain that pain medication doesn't make it go away. It's just this constant throbbing thing that eventually you get used to and you wonder, why am I annoyed all the time? Why am I angry? Frustrated, mad and stressed.
Yeah.
Because your body's in pain. Right. So did the stem cells. And it took nine weeks. I'd say I was halfway there. Twelve weeks later, no pain, normal function. I could swim again. I couldn't swim any longer. I couldn't do a full crawl stroke and it was a boxing injury. So I'm gonna give huge shout out for, for that. And then I'll do one other one that I want to ask you about too. Is. So hair loss runs in my family. My youngest brother, eight years younger than me, shaves his head completely as bald as my grandfather. My dad, my other brother has, he's six years younger me, he's got, you know, a noticeable.
Area where I've. I'm pretty good right now. But part of the reason is I did exosomes.
Yeah.
And I saw a shift. And if you looked at the number of hairs, you know it, you know, you can see a before and after picture six months apart, noticeable growth. So why don't you talk a little bit about hair growth for men and women and also exosome use.
Yeah, exosomes are powerful because they're, they're the vesicles that essentially are secreted from a stem cell. And so, so these are, you know, generally pretty darn safe. But you get them injected right into the scalp. That's the part that, yeah, it makes you pucker a little bit. It's it. But, but really what you'll see is it wakes up the hair follicles that are damaged or dead. And then once you start waking up the hair follicles. Yeah, it takes about six months to start to see some, some budding. But then you're like, oh, it's actually working. And then we'll use prp, platelet rich plasma. So we'll pull the blood out of our patients, we'll spin it through a centrifuge, take out the platelet rich plasma, and then inject that with the exosomes as a fertilizer. And it, it's a phenomenal treatment.
Yeah. So when I'm up next, that's one of the treatments I want to do. And then, you know, I want your guidance. I've, I've just recently. Yeah, I'm just feeling a little bit achy once in a while. Sometimes if I run more than four miles, I feel a little bit. I've had a damaged knee from like my early twenties and I'll feel it after like at three and a half miles. It'll be like, it's painful. So I'd like to get some upgrades. My goal is keep my joints until we can truly do full regeneration or reversal. And I think that's the other thing is like, how long can we keep our parts, our original equipment intact?
Yeah.
So any, any recommendations there before we kind of bring this around to, you know, I've got one other big question for you.
Yeah, I think they, yeah, getting the joints rejuvenated. So this is where, you know, doing some perinatal tissue allographs would be helpful. Hyaluronic acid's really good for the lubrication in the joints. But yeah, it's important to take care of it now because the longer you can go, the better the technology is getting. I'm seeing things now that I'm so excited about and it will be FDA approved and, and pretty soon it will be mainstream medicine. But you've got to hold on a few more years for that 100 reversal. If you, you know, lost a meniscus due to surgery or other complications.
Yeah. So the bottom line is do your best to not have em removed and repair em.
As long as you can keep your parts. Yeah, if you can.
Yeah. Not in a box. Not in a box. Okay. Not in a box or a jar. So. So I'm going to just summarize some of the big stuff here, and then we'll talk about some of the giveaways we provided.
So your level one program, what I started with, with you, is basically seven months. Diagnose, get a result, get your box of stuff, someone check up and modify. And that gets us through the first three phases, which are phase, phase, phase.
Yeah. So you've got your reset.
Yep.
Your restore, and then. Excuse me, Reset, recharge and restore.
Okay. And then phase two. And you can do these at all, at once also. But it's sort of the way I. I began is phase two, where you actually come up, visit the clinics or clinic, and that's when you get access to all the biohacking. Basically your zones.
Yep.
And that's where you do some of the advanced treatments, whether it's. I'll just say it. Stem cells, exosomes, prp and more intense peptides and other integrative solutions.
Coursework. We have a chef that comes and makes amazing food. And if you want to learn how to cook better than Hillary's, great.
Okay. And that means not just you, you can bring your plus one, your spouse, your family. You've got executives bringing their whole teams.
Bring your business partner.
Yeah. Everyone's going to work better together. That's what I'm doing when I'm bringing my whole group up. I'll be bringing 20 people up at once.
Yeah.
And then phase three. Talk a little bit about your level three program, what you've been doing, where you're, you know, it's your. Your ultimate living laboratory.
Yeah. Well, I'm a. I'm. I'm. My body's. My own laboratory. And, and what I found over the years is there's a lot more people like me than I ever realized. You know, you're one of them.
You're.
You sure? You're like, oh, what do I need? Okay, here. You know, before I even finish telling you what it is, it's already injected and Mike's going on.
Exactly. Yeah. I feel better. This is great. It's awesome. I like this stuff.
But but yeah, that, that, that highest level is where you know, I will be curating an entire health experience and that could, that will be, you know, the biohacking, it will also be the optimization. But you'll have a front row seat to the latest technologies in peptides, you know, hormone health, everything.
Yeah, that's what I think. That's what, what brought us together here was the vision of that which I, I think.
If you value time, the best time machine you can genuinely buy is an investment in your body where you get, imagine if you had two extra hours of full court, 30 year old, 20 year old energy. A day.
Where you wake up and you don't have sad. That's something that kicks in when you're sleeping and sleep isn't an issue. And again I know when I have the raw, real conversations with most founders, anyone over the age of 40, sleep's a big issue for them. Gut health which, and, and more importantly the stuff that creeps in that you normalize. Yeah. And you get, just get used to, you say I'm just getting older and it's like that is bs. It is to unnecessarily suffer is, it's stupid. It's not just ignorant, it's stupid. Stupid's when you don't do something about ignorance when you don't know about it. Hopefully if you're listening to this, there's a solution. But it all begins with a really, really simple blood test and you know, less than a thousand bucks to get a full court reading. So why don't you talk just briefly about, you know, how, how someone begins and then we're going to give away a bunch of goodies as well.
Yeah. So the way you can begin, you can text 801-582-2011, go to accuast west.com.
Or the, the peptide expert.
The peptide expert.com is even better. And, and then you can get your lab ran. What we do is we meet together as a team. This lab is 36 pages so it's going to tell you what you need from a nutritional perspective. We go through and we give you macros, carbohydrates, proteins, fats. We'll show you how much of those you need to eat. And then the real important thing is we'll show you if you've got any issues going on in your liver, your kidneys, your cardiovascular system. If there's a blood sugar threat, we'll look at your gut markers from the labs and we can really help you prevent some pretty substantial issues in the.
Future, Yeah, no doubt about it. Not only do I have, you know, I got enrolled, Vivian got enrolled, now my son, he, we're making him beg for it a little bit. So he's, he's, you know. Yeah, yeah. Making him fight for it. But you know, because, because I think if you've got kids, in my case, 20 year old, getting them enrolled in this, they'll give you lip service. It doesn't mean you're going to get action.
Yeah.
And, and, but if you want to be a long term happy family and in my case, you know, the sad side of the story is I'm literally going off, I'm visiting my folks tomorrow in Minnesota. My both my parents are in memory care. They're in their 80s but.
Suffering unnecessarily. And I think that's one distinction that I think is really important is the difference between the health span and lifespan is. Health span is how long you're going to go until you just drop. And the best thing you can, can do is drop dead, hopefully of old, old age lifespan. While we've got a lot of people who have extended lifespans but their health spans are crap. They're 20 years suffering and that's unnecessary.
And we've got tools available that are constantly evolving and you've got to get your third partner in your life and meets with you on a regular basis. And in, in our case, what you guys are doing, it's monthly, plus regular blood tests, plus getting your box of goodies that are customized for you. This is the future, hands down, period, end of story. So I'll let you take it home and then we've got to give away some goodies too, some extra goodies.
Okay, well, yeah, first of all, thanks Mike, for having me. And it's been so fun working with you. For those of you who are listening, really the people that you care about most, you know, Mike brought home a really good point. You know, don't let something catch you by surprise. And so that's the beautiful thing about functional medicine. It's why I got into it, is because we can really look out for the future version of yourself. You know, 10 years from now, 20 years from now, your life can look a whole lot different.
Yeah. Very, very good. So there's a couple great giveaways we have here. One of them is the Fitness 50 benchmarks. That's your, your tool to test your longevity, find out how long you're going to live. Really, really good resource. And you've got a bunch of goodies. And then also the transcript, the show notes, links to some goodies, and that'll give you some great longevity, life extension, healthy extension hacks. And one thing, if you'd like, I'll also make sure there are links to your book so you can get a copy of this. Never stop healing. Any other goodies that you want to talk about when they go to thepeptidexpert.com just no.
I mean, we have our ability for you to get your blood labs ran. We make it very simple. There's just an easy form you can fill out and we'll send a phlebotomist to your house, which is awesome.
I have done zoom meetings where the phlebotomist is drawing my blood while I'm looking at the camera before. For the record, that sucks.
That's.
It's so much better than going to a lab. Although it's fast and easy and painless.
Yeah, yeah. And if you know where a LabCorp is close, that sometimes is easier. But. But we make it easy. It just takes us a couple days to get those labs in. We run a very comprehensive report. So, yeah, you can go to thepeptidexpert.com and get signed up.
Yeah. Rock and roll. All right, well, that's what we have for you. This is another episode of Capex Ability amplifier. I hope you enjoyed it. Definitely. This is one of those episodes you want to share with your spouse, business partner, a friend, anyone you know who's maybe experiencing health crisis and either needs some hope or want some access to some of the tools that are available. Head on over to the peptidedoctor.com and download the goodies that we're giving away. Who knows, we might even stack a couple more by the time this thing is live. And Usher, thanks a ton for being here. This been a total blast getting to spend time with you and your son Jonah, who's in the studio in the corner right now. Yeah, yeah.
Thanks, Mike.
All right, peace. All right, everyone.
Take care, everybody.
