Take me through some lifestyle things that people can do from a PCOS perspective to really move the needle on their symptoms or even like their long term outcomes. Yeah, I love this question.
This is a question where people ask me this. I say, okay, well, before I can answer this, we need to take a personal inventory because I don't know you like you. So you need to take a personal inventory if you have these symptoms or you have a disease process. And you need to be honest with yourself. Am I getting good, adequate amounts of sleep at the same time every night? Because a lot of times I hear from women. The only time I have to myself is when my kids go to sleep and my husband goes to sleep. So I stay up until 11 or 12 o' clock to do laundry or do whatever I want to do or scroll on my phone or whatever because it's the only time I have for me. Right, well then you're not getting adequate amounts of sleep. So like you have to take a personal inventory. How is your sleep? How is your stress? Are you doing things to de stress? How are you moving your body? Are you doing it adequately? What are you eating? Things like that. And so once you've taken that inventory, then I ask patients to tell me, okay, what are the top two that we can work on? Like, what are the two that you think are the rockiest? Right. Because I feel like if you try to do five things at once, you're going to probably not succeed and we can even start with one. But I would say from a PCOS perspective, honestly, two of the top ones are going to be sleep and nutrition.
