Short YouTube monologue by McCall McPherson reporting recent studies (July 2024 period) that GLP-1 receptor agonists — the newer weight-loss medications — appear to improve fertility. Claims: these drugs can increase fertility enough that additional contraception may be advised; they may biochemically reduce PCOS severity independent of weight loss; and they are reported to raise luteinizing hormone and increase numbers of mature ovarian follicles. Speaker promises to provide links to the studies.

GLP1s treating infertility. I'm gonna blow your mind. So a few studies have come out in the last month that emphasize how GLP1s these new weight loss class of medications improve fertility in a few different ways. Number one, they improve it so much that they tell people now that you need to have a backup birth control method other than birth control because people are becoming so fertile. But two other ways it impacts fertility which is huge. One involves PCOS. So PCOS is, you know, accounts for up to 20% of women. Obviously there's an impact on fertility. The GLP receptor itself can help prevent PCOS severity and even help prevent it in general. So that's one way and it's outside of weight loss guys. It is actually biochemically improving or reducing risk for PCOS by taking these medications. Number two, studies have shown that these medications increase your luteinizing hormone to promote fertility and also improve the number of mature follicles for fertility. I will link the studies. I'll tell you where here.
