McCall McPherson (YouTube video) gives a concise, patient-directed guide to treating hair loss when related to thyroid or other hormonal issues. She recommends a holistic strategy: investigate and treat hormonal causes (including thyroid and menopausal low estrogen), correct micronutrient deficiencies with a multinutrient supplement and collagen (mentions Vital Proteins), use topical stimulants/shampoos (minoxidil/Rogaine, Nioxin, Virtue) to increase scalp blood flow and preserve follicles, and consider low-dose oral medications (oral minoxidil, spironolactone) when appropriate. The speaker emphasizes acting quickly to keep follicles alive, differentiates this approach from male-pattern baldness, and invites viewers to save/share/comment.

Hair loss and thyroid problems. If my patients have this, it is the number one thing that they want to get fixed as soon as possible, which is why I do a lot of things. So save this post. I am going to go through it fast. You can always slow down the speed. Again, we want to address hair loss globally, holistically, from every angle, because there are a lot of things that drive it and we want to make it better because every single strand of hair you lose is like, you know, 2, 5, 10 years to grow back to the length that it was before it fell out. We also want to prioritize time and make it happen quick because we want to keep your hair follicles alive and healthy. So we address it from a hormone perspective, from thyroid, from hormones. If you're postmenopausal, it might be related to low estrogen, et cetera. We want to address it from a micronutrient standpoint, which is why I use things like neutrophil with my patients all day, every day. It covers the basic micronutrients and minerals you need. It also covers, like, some byproducts that can be responsible for hair loss and helps you metabolize those. I like to use something to provide the building blocks of the amino acid chains that your hair needs for integrity and strength. And for this, I usually use collagen. I love vital proteins. Pepper pink collagen line. Additionally to this, you guys and y' all are going to freak out in the comments, but let me tell you, you need it and it works, or my patients need it and it works. You need something to stimulate and bring blood flow to your scalp to deliver all of these things, your hormones, your nutrients there so that they can get what they need to function. And to do this, I use things like Minoxidil or Rogaine. Topically, I use Nioxin shampoo. There's another shampoo brand called Virtue that incorporates these kinds of things into their products. These again, they keep your hair follicles healthy and alive. We are in a race against time to do that. We do not want them to go dormant. This is a huge piece. Will your hair fall out when you stop it? No. If you have male pattern baldness, like, and you're a man. Yes. Totally different issue. We are dealing with hair loss acutely from a micronutrient mineral hormone issue. So our job is to keep your hair follicles alive while we're waiting to fix it. Lastly, I often use oral medications additionally with my patients that have very low side effect profiles and Again, this is per patient. So if hair loss is important to them, you are darn sure I'm going to offer this. And those are things like low dose oral minoxidil, which is like Rogaine but it's oral, and also spironolactone. So the nuances of this are, you know, a little specific per patient, but huge, you guys. So please, like this, share this with a friend, save it and let me know what other hair loss related questions you've got for me in the comments.
