Anxiety, irritability, agitation, insomnia, worsen leading up to your period. This one's for you. I'm McCall McPherson, physician assistant, Thyroid expert and founder of Modern Thyroid Clinics. Let's talk about this. This is an issue that I see very frequently that goes in conjunction with hypothyroidism and also even without a thyroid problem. So those symptoms are symptoms of estrogen symptoms, dominance, okay, that can be all of those. Anxiety, irritability, agitation, insomnia. It can be heavy periods, crampy periods, moody periods, dysregulated cycle, breast tenderness, especially around ovulation, midway point through your cycle, leading or leading up to your period, even migraines before your period. So big, big deal. Honestly, it like sometimes completely takes over the lives of women. Not the most comfortable for them or their family, friends, that kind of thing. This comes from an imbalance of estrogen and progesterone. So I always describe it to my patients like on a seesaw. If that seesaw is imbalanced and tipped in the estrogen heavy scale, then it creates those symptoms. Now this can be because your estrogen is too heavy and it's irrespective of your progesterone because again, it just tips that way. It can also be your estrogen's normal, but your progesterone's too light, tipping the scale that way. Or it can be both. Each one of these is addressed in a different way if you have too much estrogen. What I do with my patients, obviously check with your doctor. This isn't medical advice, but I put my patients on a supplement called DIM. My very favorite is called Dimensions 3. Better than any other DIM. I found it. You can snag it on our website, linked in my profile. But I have patients take three to five before bed to help them up, regulate and detox their estrogen. All that does is it helps your body excrete it more efficiently. You can also get over the counter progesterone to address the progesterone side. That gets a little more complicated and it's more nuanced. So you kind of want to enlist your doctor in that if you decide to go that way. But if you're having all of these symptoms, they really are bothering you in the easy way, right out of the bat, right out of the gate to see if you can get some improvement is go on dim or dimensions 3. Save this video for reference of what it's called how to take it. All the things my patients really don't often experience side effects from Dem So very very well tolerated. I hope this helps you guys. Post your questions in the comments section and let me know what you want me to talk about next.
