Ndubuisi 'Andy' Egwim asks whether the current AI market resembles the dot‑com bubble, arguing the important investor question is whether people are overpaying for AI rather than whether AI will change the world. He cites late‑1990s/early‑2000s examples (AOL, Yahoo, Cisco, pet.com), mentions running a Forex Investing Academy for Medics, and promotes his Money Wise Doctor newsletter (link in comments) where he will unpack these lessons further.

So are we in an AI bubble? I mean, someone in the Moneywise doctor community asked me this question yesterday. I mean we are currently running our Forex Investing Academy for Medics and it took me back to thoughts about the dot com bubble that happened in the late 90s 2000s when you saw companies like AOL, Yahoo, Cisco, pet.com, their valuations went so sky high and everyone was excited and they think AI is going to change the world. Back then they thought Internet is going to change the world and now it's just a similar picture but this time is only AI. So for investors the big question is not if AI is going to change the world. The question is are you overpaying for it? For instance, companies like Cisco, many people who invested at the height of the valuation in 2000 never really recovered. Almost 20 years later, I'm going to be unpacking a lot of that this evening in my newsletter, the Money Wise Doctor. Check out the link in the comments if you want to get my newsletter where I share my insights on investing, tax efficiency and basically being smarter with money as a medicine. All right then, speak to you later. Bye bye.
