Doctors: Tax Year Ends Soon

In this short video Dr. Andy Agrim, founder of Money Wise Doctor and author of the Money Wise Doctor book, warns UK doctors that the tax year is ending in less than seven weeks and many are overpaying tax due to not using available tax‑saving mechanisms. He presents a concise ABCDE framework to help doctors become tax‑efficient: A – Allowances: ensure full use of pension, marriage, capital‑gains and dividend allowances; B – Business Structure: consider holding income in a limited company and extracting it in the most tax‑efficient way; C – Clawback: avoid the 60% tax trap that kicks in when adjusted net income exceeds £100k (and be aware of the child‑benefit taper above £60k); D – Deductions: claim all allowable professional expenses such as GMC, BMA, indemnity, mileage and other fees; E – Estate Planning: use trusts, life‑insurance policies and other structures to minimise inheritance tax. He emphasizes that the goal is not tax avoidance but preventing over‑payment, and offers a free “tax X‑ray” scorecard for doctors to assess where they may be losing money. He invites viewers to comment for a free copy.
