A brief conversational excerpt from a YouTube video where Ndubuisi 'Andy' Egwim and another speaker discuss a systematic approach to personal finance: quantifying income and outgoings, increasing income, and deliberately channeling earned money into investments and savings to enable earlier retirement or future rest.
I love the systematic approach. One, you, you sat down, you did the math, you calculated it, and nobody's coming. No miracle or nothing is. Maybe something great might happen, but we're going to deal with numbers here. We deal with reality. So you sat down, you did the numbers, say, what are my outgoings? What was my income? And you talked about how you can increase your income.
I need to work today in order for me to rest tomorrow, because you really need to expend the hours, otherwise you'll pay for it tomorrow if you don't work today. So I feel, you know, fulfilled each time I finish my work. And I know that whatever comes from this is going into, you know, my. My investment and my savings.
That is. That is a fantastic way to think about it, because now you're giving a bit of purpose. You're not just going to work. You do your regular work, you obviously pay your bill, but you're thinking about, okay, yeah, this extra bit I'm doing, it's still the same money. The same thing is going to be paid into my account, but because there's a direct plan.
