A short conversational excerpt from a YouTube video where Ndubuisi 'Andy' Egwim discusses his personal approach to stock market trading as a doctor: he did not start with index funds but analyses positions and took advantage of strong market gains in 2020. The dialogue also briefly compares Wall Street to the UK financial district (the City, the 'Square Mile').
It's just I didn't start with index fund. I'm used to doing an analysis and taking a position and all that. So, example is 2020, where there are so many gains in the market, so someone who was in a position to, you know, take advantage of it. That was really a very good time. Yeah, but that's very interesting. You've actually gone into Wall street, if I might say. Well, not the US Wall street, but what. What is it for uk? What is the equivalent of Wall street, should we say, then, canary wall?
Well, it's a square mile in the city.
Yeah, the city, yeah.
It's so difficult to do it properly. You know, there's a lot, an awful lot of time that has to go into researching things and the leading indicators, the absolute fundamentals of doing it. And then on top of knowing what the leading indicators are, then you've got to figure out what the Forex positions of those businesses is and how that will be affected by whatever leading indicators are telling you.
