In this cooking demonstration, the host recreates a lemon chicken skillet dish that she first made during the COVID pandemic. Using chicken drumsticks, olive oil, salt, pepper, and plenty of fresh herbs (thyme or rosemary), she seasons and browns the chicken in a cast‑iron pan, deglazes with a splash of white wine, and bakes it at 400 °F for about 50 minutes. Thin lemon slices and a portion of the herbs are added on top while it bakes. Fifteen minutes before the end, she prepares a lemon‑garlic‑butter white‑wine sauce, infusing it with the remaining thyme, and then spoons the sauce over the finished chicken for a bright, herby finish. The video emphasizes the simplicity of the method, the importance of layering flavor, and offers a few lazy‑chef shortcuts (e.g., adding whole thyme sprigs to the sauce).

So we are making a lemon chicken skillet that I have not made in 3 years. Made it for the first time during COVID and it was so good. So we're gonna make it again. So it's a lemon chicken skillet in a cast iron. You brown the chicken beforehand, you bake it in the oven, and then you pour a lemon garlic white wine like mixture on top of it. It is so good. All right, we have pat dried and rinsed chicken drumsticks and now I'm just gonna season it with olive oil, salt and pepper. So we're going to use a lot of herbs in this. We're going to use thyme because it's what I have. You can also use rosemary, um, but we're going to separate it. So one of these bundles is going to be chopped up and added to the garlic butter white wine sauce, and then the other half is going to go on top of the chicken as it bakes. Lots of herby flavor, lots of delicious flavor that combine with the lemon too. Now we add the chicken to the pot or pan to help deglaze. Add just a little bit of white wine to help further deglaze the pan too. I am going to cut thin, maybe a quarter of an inch slices of lemons and disperse it on top of the chicken as it bakes. Now we add the thyme on top and just put the chicken in the oven. It's going to bake at 400 degrees for about 50 minutes, and about 15 minutes before it's done, I'm going to make my garlic lemon butter white wine sauce with that fresh thyme in it. It's gonna be so good. Chicken is almost done. We are going to make that lemon garlic butter white wine sauce to go over it. Some white wine. Because I'm super lazy, I'm just gonna add the thyme in there and just let it marinade and let the aromas come out of the thyme leaves. This looks so good and so pretty that it's like hard to want to eat it, but I will. Now we just spoon over the sauce over the top.
