A creator with no design experience built a web app by gathering design trends, using a coding agent to prototype, and discovering a JavaScript physics library for interactive text effects. Within a week, the app generated over 200 user-created jars and caught the attention of Figma's VP of Design.

How I built creative apps like this without being a designer. Since I had no idea or experience, step 1 was radical exploration. I spent a few weeks collecting design tools and trends on Twitter and even went to some talks in the city from crack designers. And then I dumped my general direction, which was to rethink software interfaces and also do something interesting with text, into a coding agent and immediately started experimenting. I found this JavaScript library that allows objects on the web to act according to real-world physics. So I parsed through the docs and integrated some code snippets to the app, which gave birth to this first iteration where text breaks apart and random customize themselves in the pile of letters. Playing with this gave me another idea. What if I allow users to make pages or text jars and make them shareable through a customizable URL? And then I designed the text jar logo. Yes, it's hand-drawn by me. Then I bought a domain, coded the jar creation feature, and then the sharing functionality, and finally added a pile of jars on the homepage. Now, after a week, there are over 200 jars created and over 1,000 messages sent. It even got me a follow from the VP of Design at Figma. So this is your sign to make something creative and launch that project.
