A sovereign AI consortium spanning Europe, the Middle East, and Africa is forming with Accenture, Dell, Palantir, and Nvidia to build regulated data fortresses. High-quality national datasets have become essential for effective AI, shifting how countries treat data from corporate asset to strategic resource.

I think data, compute, control, all of these things are kind of being now treated less as assets and more like sovereignty. I think a sovereign AI consortium is also like forming across EMEA which involves companies like Accenture. I know Dell's a part of it. I think Palantir is also part of Nvidia as well. And what they're doing is they're working to build these regulated AI data fortresses. Why are these enterprises acting like nation states? Where is that coming from?
I think data we've been talking about, I mean everyone's talking about data is the new oil. There was a post when this got 2014 or gas and it didn't become a new IO for the whole 10 years. So people thought no, data is not. Then there was a deep mind, people who were saying we trained AlphaFold 2 on the same data as AlphaFold 1. So we really need scientific breakthroughs, not just data. But eventually it turned out that high quality national data sets are required to make AI work.
