SOCIAL MEDIA IS LYING TO YOU!

In this motivational monologue, the speaker critiques the deceptive nature of social‑media highlight reels, explaining how comparing one’s life to curated snippets creates fear, misalignment, and a loss of internal guidance. They argue that personal journeys are non‑linear, consisting of distinct seasonal phases—planting, building, executing, and even destruction—that cannot be measured against others. The speaker offers a concrete grounding practice: when comparison arises, name your physical location, feel your body, and reaffirm that external metrics no longer define your worth. They then suggest reframing envy into "why not me?" curiosity, pinpointing the specific essence of another’s success that truly resonates with you. Finally, they advise establishing personal success metrics—grounded in values like healing, freedom, or recognition—so you can measure progress on your own terms. The talk concludes with an affirmation of alignment and authenticity.

Have you ever scrolled down someone else's success story or their vlog traveling the world, experiencing luxurious cuisine or whatever experience they were shooting on social media? And suddenly you felt as if Your whole life is behind. It's as if you are late to some invisible deadline. That pressure, that tension does not come from truth. It does not come from your authentic self. It comes from— Fear. Misalignment because you are comparing your location to their high light, not even their life, not their process or journey or even the pain or the context. You're not even comparing to what their life was, is, or has been. Mm-hmm. Actually going to be, because you're just comparing your entire life to a snub chat, a segment that they sometimes, if not most of the time, fabricated and edited out and put online for you to see as a photo or a very short— Snub chat. Video. And every time you do that, every time you compare in that manner, you do something very, very dangerous. You immediately exit your path, your pace, your rhythm, your journey, your goals, and your own successes and even failures. Because now you're not learning from your failures and you're not integrating your successes, but rather you're doing the worst thing you can do, which is you are overriding your internal guidance system. Mm-hmm. The GPS that allows you to be grounded, that allows you to understand the perfect timing for you and the brilliance of your authentic self. It might completely put you off track on what matters to you. So let's shift that. First thing I want you to remember is that life and yourself, your journey, are non-linear. So your journey is not linear. It is multi-layered and multifaceted. And multidimensional, and it has a story distinctly unique to only you, and you can never compare that to anybody else. So the first thing you can do is to start reminding yourself that you're not behind, because some seasons are for executing and some— Mm-hmm. Which seasons are for planting, some seasons are for building, and some seasons are for destruction. Yes, that is the alchemizing process that most teachers and healers don't tell you about, which is there's a period that is not designed for love and joy and all of that. Mm-hmm. But it is actually designed to let go and destroy what was built upon a false identity. Number 2: Remember that comparison is a distortion of location. It's a distortion of location in space-time. And when you compare your location to somebody else's location and you feel that misalignment, it is because— it's not because you are in the wrong place, but that you are simply not where they are. And what they are should and could never be what you should and could be. Mm-hmm. Even if on the surface you intersect, meaning they could be a millionaire and you should or could be a millionaire. They are famous, you should or could be famous. They're healthy, you should or could be healthy. It will only be done in your own way, through your own pain, through your own struggles. To your own context, to your own pleasures and happiness, to your own distinct context and way and journey, not theirs. Third, come back to physicality, because when you scroll down or even hear somebody else's story, good or bad, What you do is you exit your body, you exit physicality, you exit the now, and you start comparing yourself, or comparing their story to yours, comparing their location to yours. You start exiting physicality and entering some other dimension of space and time. It could be their past, their future, or their projected future, what they're promising people they're gonna be like in 3 months, or what they were, what— it doesn't matter. It is not rooted and grounded in your physicality. So once you feel comparison creeping in, instantly do the following. First, look around you and name your current location. Where am I? It could be, "I'm in my room. I'm in my studio shooting a video." And then you start feeling your body. This is my body. Don't judge it. Don't think about the size and the measurement. Just feel it. Feel the raw physicality of your body, your flesh, the air going into your lungs. Mm-hmm. Just feel your physical body. And as you do that, simply remind yourself, "I now stop making other people's locations and progresses a measurement of my own worth." Fourth, turn that envy that could be within that comparison behavior or pattern, turn it into positive curiosity. Ask yourself not why them, but why not me? And again, don't ask it in the generality of why don't I have everything they do, because you have a lot of things they don't. Ask yourself What specifically in that success or in that story that I feel I deeply resonate with? Sometimes you could watch somebody vlogging about them traveling around the world and you think, "Oh, I want to travel the world." Yeah. But in reality, that's not what specifically you want out of what they have or you think they have. It could be you want the freedom, the financial freedom that you project they have, which you project allows them to travel around the world. So it could be totally— have nothing with what they are having, but there is an essence, a specific tiny part of their entire life that you truly resonate with, that you deserve and desire, that you should and could have. But it's not— It has nothing to do with their journey or life or success story. It could be as simple as you're watching somebody who's, I don't know, who has 10 million followers. You don't really want that level of fame, but what you want is for your work and your passion to be recognized and valued. And it may happen in a manner in which you are famous for it, and it may not be it, but what you truly resonate with, what you truly want, is that recognition and appreciation for your passion or service. Finally, reconnect to your own real metrics. Start measuring your days by your own standards, whatever they could be. They could be groundedness, they could be healing, it could be truth, it could be clarity, it could be money, it could be freedom, it could be more health, more love, whatever it is that you specifically desire and deserve and resonate with. So before we end, say this with me: I'm not behind. I am aligned. This is where I belong. This is my path. This is my truth. This is my— My truth. Unique, distinct journey. Have a great week. Thank you.
