In this motivational talk, Natalie Fisher challenges the common belief that landing a well‑paying job right after graduation is easy or automatic. She argues that securing multiple job offers requires deliberate effort: proactive networking, reaching out to the right contacts, and preparing for interviews, even when you lack experience. Fisher emphasizes that many graduates feel it’s hard simply because they’ve never done it before, leading 95% of them to settle for uninspiring roles. She contrasts this with people who, despite less experience, are actively building networks, setting up interviews, and negotiating salaries. The core message is that a growth‑oriented mindset and consistent work—rather than a “magic button”—are essential. Fisher offers to guide those willing to put in the work by inviting viewers to join her Career Kickstarters Facebook group for further support.

Do you feel like we're being sold on the idea that once you get your degree, getting a great, well-paying job right after you graduate is going to be a really easy thing to do? Like there's a magic button that we're all missing here? Well, no, there isn't anything missing. You're not missing anything. It actually takes a lot to get a job offer. So it takes real work to break through the crowd of applicants out there that have way more experience than you do, that maybe even have degrees as well, and it takes work to get in touch with the right people and convince them to take a chance on you and hire you when you don't have that experience behind you yet. But work doesn't have to mean hard, and if you think it's hard to get multiple job offers on the table after graduating so that you can actually choose where you want to work, then you really need to ask yourself, Why do you think it's so hard? You want to know why you think it's hard? Because you've never done it before. And you know what? That's going to stop 95% of people. 95% of people are going to tell themselves it's too hard, and you're just going to take— they're just going to take whatever comes along, even if they're not excited about it, and they may stay stuck there for years. So here's the deal. There are people every day connecting with the right people, setting up a ton of interviews, negotiating well-paying salaries right now, and they have less experience than you do. This is a real thing. There are people right now who are actually putting in the work to create the network for the career that they want, the career that gives them the life that they want and the paychecks that they expected when they signed up for that degree. So which person are you? Are you the person who's already convinced yourself that your dream role is too hard, that you're never gonna get it? If that's you, I can't help you. Or if you're the type of person who's putting in the work right now, you know you can create opportunities and knock it out of the park, you just need some guidance, then that's me. I will help you. So let me show you how. Sign up for the Career Kickstarters Facebook group. Click the link around this video and we can continue the conversation in there. I will see you soon. Bye. Bye.
