How to Get Hired in 2025 (3 Mindset Changes)

In this instructional video, Natalie Fisher outlines three mental shifts that she argues are essential for landing a job in the modern market. First, she urges viewers to become comfortable with emotional discomfort and to deliberately take risks that feel uncomfortable, framing failure as a necessary step toward success. Second, she introduces a "blue‑ocean" mindset, contrasting it with the "red‑ocean" of complainers who dwell on negativity; the blue‑ocean approach means positioning oneself in a space where negative self‑talk and external complaints have little impact, allowing continuous creation of results. Third, she advocates a solution‑focused, creator‑mode attitude, encouraging job seekers to act like bloodhounds for solutions rather than fixating on problems, both during the search and once employed. Throughout, she uses vivid metaphors, emphasizes intentional thought choices, and concludes with a call‑to‑action for a 3‑day training series and standard YouTube engagement prompts.

How to become the person who lands the job. Three things that you need to change about yourself, change about how you're operating, that will create you becoming the person who lands the job. So the first one is that you need to become somebody who is okay with feeling uncomfortable and doing uncomfortable things. So the job hunt is not about doing the most repetitive actions. It's not about submitting the most things. It is about taking the most emotional risks. It is about doing the thing that is uncomfortable. that isn't the thing that you want to do, is the thing you want to put off, it's the thing that you feel like it might not work. It's the— it's risking failure. It's— you're gonna have to risk failure in order to get the job, and you're gonna have to be really good at risking failure, almost like wanting— like you're wanting to fail, because when you fail, that means you're going to have success, right? The second thing you're going to have to do is you're going to have to manage your negativity. So when we are out in the job search, there is so much negativity, like so much. And it's because people have mismanaged minds. They aren't, um, they aren't putting themselves in the right spaces. They're just kind of getting bogged down in the sea. Like, you have— I don't know if you ever read that book, The Blue Ocean Strategy. I'm not even really talking about the book. I'm talking about the concept in a different way, but The red ocean is the is the bloody ocean where everyone's competing and everyone's fighting over the same scraps, right? And then the blue ocean is the different is the is the easier way, right? It's like oh it's like a brand new ocean and it's so much easier to operate in that ocean. And the way that I kind of see that is the red ocean is the complainers. The red ocean is the people who are who are saying things are very difficult. Like their mindset is oh this is this is so hard, this is taking so long, I've tried so much, I've done this, I've done this, like almost feeling entitled to a result because they've worked really hard or they've done a lot. Um, and then they end up desperate and they end up kind of showing everybody that they need help, and they'll do it, they'll get help from whoever they can get. And it's like, no shade to those people, but they just don't know how to manage their minds properly to, to become the person who gets a result, like who becomes the person who gets the result that they want. And when you end up, when you elevate yourself to the blue ocean, you know that none of that stuff matters because that is, that has nothing to do with you. It has nothing to do with who you are. It has nothing to do with what you choose to think that day. It has nothing to do with what you choose to believe about yourself. And so you operate at a different level. You can operate in a way that is, is constantly creating results for yourself. You create aha moments, you create breakthroughs for yourself every day. And you know, without beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are creating a result. And those people end up leading the way for like, for the complainers who want to follow them, they'll come, people start coming to you and say, oh, how do you do that? Like, can you help me do that? And then other people will discredit you. And they'll be like, oh, you think you're so great because you're doing so, you're doing so good. But they, it's two different mentalities, right? It's people who manage their mind and people who have a way to like manage their negativity and they're practicing it daily. And then the people who just don't know how and they're just not, and they just think that the complaining and asking for help and doing that kind of thing is the way to do it and that's their only choice. And I don't know what to say about those people because I'm like, they just don't know what they don't know. It's not their fault. I don't have any like anything— I don't want to say anything bad about them. I just want to say it's just not their fault. They just don't know what they don't know, right? So I'm like, I discovered the The mentality that I need to have, the mentality that was going to work for me, and I discovered that that's how you create results fast, and you can help other people create results fast. Right? So those are the two things, and I want to also share that when you are in that mentality, when you're in the blue ocean mentality, the setbacks really don't have that big of an impact on you anymore because you know that that is what it's going to take. Right? And that is not just of the job hunt; it is when you're in the job too. You're going to have setbacks. You're going to have a different set of problems. You're going to have people or like bosses who tell you that you did something wrong, or you're going to have, um, you're going to have a colleague that like calls in sick and then you've got to cover. You're going to have other problems that you're going to be dealing with, and the same mentality is going to apply, right? You can be one of the people who is problem-focused and focusing on all the problems that now have been created because of this circumstance, or you can be the solution-focused person who's focusing on the solutions. And being a bloodhound for solutions is, is the creator's way, is like being in the creator mode. So with that said, there are so many options for you of what you can think and what you can believe about yourself, about the job market, about the hiring managers, about every circumstance that is presented to you that you are interacting with in the world when you're creating your results. And you need to make very intentional choices about those things, how react to them and what you decide you're going to think about them. And you need to be able to do that in order to create a result fast. Okay, so if you'd like more help with that, get on the list. I have a 3-day series that I do, and I do regular trainings, so you'll want to get on that. And if you like this video, give me a thumbs up. If you didn't like it, give me a thumbs down.
