In this solo coaching video, Natalie Fisher addresses viewers who are struggling with a career choice—whether to accept a job that isn’t a perfect fit or wait for a better opportunity. She explains that she cannot give a definitive yes/no answer, but she can provide three mental frameworks to help viewers feel confident in whichever decision they make. First, she asks viewers to imagine that either option could turn out great, encouraging a mindset that both outcomes are potentially positive. Second, she advises deciding based on bodily sensations—whether a choice feels expansive or constrictive—rather than over‑analyzing with pros‑and‑cons lists. Third, she points out that the fear of making the “wrong” choice is what stalls people; most career decisions don’t have a clear right or wrong answer, unlike moral dilemmas. Throughout, she uses analogies (e.g., choosing between two equally wonderful marriage partners) and emphasizes personal intuition. The video ends with a call‑to‑action for free guides and training on job search, interviewing, promotion, and salary negotiation.

So in this video, I'm going to talk about how to make a difficult career decision. And I get a lot of questions from people like, just like you who are watching my channel about how to make difficult decisions in their career. So for example, one of the ones that comes up a lot is, should I take this job now even though it's not really what I want yet? Or should I wait to see if something better's come along or keep looking for something better? In this video, I'll get you thinking on how the best way for you to decide this is. So stay tuned. The thing is that I can't tell you yes or no to that question. No one can tell you what is right for you but you. But I want to give you 3 points that are gonna help you to feel confident in whatever decision you choose to make, whatever it ends up being. Number 1, what if there was no such thing as a wrong decision in this case? What if you take the job and it works out great? You either decide to love it and put your all into it now, or it ends up leading you to a better opportunity down the line, or you gain valuable experience that you needed to get where you want to go, or you end up meeting the person who's going to propel you forward. What if either decision turned out great? I want you to get to that point where both situations, whatever path you choose, you can look at them both and say they're both going to be amazing either way. And then whatever you do is gonna work out. So I want you to ask yourself, if either one was gonna be great, which one would I choose? It's like if you had to choose between 2 people to marry, for example, and they were both equally amazing, it was just different, your life would just look different, who would you pick and how would you pick? I want you to get to that point where both decisions are gonna work out amazing. So when you can get to that point, Then ask yourself and see what your brain comes up with for the answer. 2, decide based on your feelings instead of based on logic. So what we try to do is we try to overthink this. We try to make a pros and cons list and try to use our brains to decide. So I want you to take a step back and listen to your body. So how does it feel in your body? Does it— does the decision feel expansive or does it feel constrictive? Because the best answers are going to be based on how you feel about the situation. And feeling and your logical brain are completely different. And if you ask an expert like myself, I am no more qualified to give you that answer than your own brain is and your own body is. So as a coach, I can definitely help you in feeling more confident with what you decide, but ultimately it's you who needs to decide, and it's your life, and deep down you know what is right for you. And also consider that there's no right or wrong. It's whatever you decide is going to be best for you. So ask Does it feel expansive or does it feel constrictive? Does it feel uplifting or does it feel dreadful? How do you feel in your body when you think of each decision? And just come to the answer like that. Let the answer come in for you. Get quiet. Nobody else knows but you. 3, the fear of choosing the wrong thing is what we're ultimately afraid of. And we're ultimately, when making a decision, we think that there's a right or wrong and that keeps us stuck. Stuck in confusion for a really long time. We get confused and we get overwhelmed wondering what the right thing is to do. So when we get confused, we're wanting to pick the right answer for us. However, with a lot of these career decisions, there is no right or wrong. Trust me, right or wrong was meant for decisions like, should I steal this piece of candy or not, or should I pay for it? Should I lie to my boss or should I tell the truth? And those have very clear right or wrong answers. But choosing a job over another job or waiting for or choosing to move forward to a different job is not going to be a right or wrong decision. It is going to be what you make it. And there you have it, 3 things to look at when making a decision. 1, either way it's going to turn out amazing, then decide. 2, decide based on how you feel, not trying to overthink it or think your way into a decision. You'll drive yourself crazy. 3, What if there was no wrong answer? Cool. So if you like this video, give it a thumbs up. Comments are always welcome.
