Replace the negative thoughts that tank your interview confidence with statements you actually believe. The speaker walks through identifying your exact limiting belief, then reframing it around your real skills and past wins. A believable reframe sticks; a fake one won't.

Hey there! In this video, we're going to talk about how to think confidently to get the results you want. In the last video, I talked about what you are thinking, and I talked about the sentence in your head and how that's the root cause of your lack of confidence. So the first step is to identify what your thought is. So for example, for me, a thought that I had a lot before interviews or before anything was I'm too fat to get that job. They will probably want to hire a skinny person. So that's my thought from working with many clients. You could have a bunch of potential different thoughts depending on who you are. I'm not qualified enough. There's lots of other people better than me for this. Who am I to get this job? They're not gonna like me. So when you're thinking these thoughts, that's what causes you to feel less confident, which is what causes you to show up In a way that doesn't help you. So just like these thoughts don't serve you, mine wasn't useful to me, and it wasn't even true. So it was a story that I'd made up in my head that made me feel really crappy and made me show up in a way that did not help me get the results that I wanted. So this is how I went about changing it, and this is an example for you to fill in whatever your thought was. And as a side note, getting skinny was not the answer because even if that did fix my self-confidence problem, if I had an interview the next day, I couldn't really do anything about that. So I dealt with it by managing my mind, and that is what I'm going to share with you today. So instead of, I'm too fat, they probably want to hire a skinny person, I changed my thought consciously and decided to think, my weight has nothing to do with the work that I can produce. What I look like has nothing to do with my personality or anyone's ability to see my value. I'm really good at what I do, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that if I get hired, I'm going to be completely capable of doing this job and I'm going to knock it out of the park. I know for a fact that I would be a fantastic asset to their company, and it's my job to show them that. So I purposely reframed my thought consciously decided I'm going to say this to myself instead. So the kicker is that you do have to believe the thing you're changing it to. So I couldn't say, for example, I am skinny, I am skinny, I am skinny, because I didn't believe that. And so that wouldn't have worked for me because I would have just been repeating something that I didn't believe. So I had to say things that I did believe about myself, and if I didn't believe them to be true, then they wouldn't work. So I shifted my thoughts to things that would help me feel better, which would help me show up in a better way, which would help me get better results. Which I ultimately had to do was thinking about my capability, my willingness to serve, my willingness to do well in the job, which was something I 100% believed with all my heart. So then you can see that once I started thinking in these— this different way with these different thoughts, I started to feel a lot better about going into the interview, and I showed up a lot differently, and the results I got were a lot different. The responses I got and the reactions I got from people I spoke to were a lot different. So examples of what might— what you might want to shift your thinking to into a confident place inside your head. Here are some examples. I'm really good at spreadsheets. I have planned events before, so I know I'm going to bring value to this. No matter what happens, I'm going to succeed. I know this interviewer, so I'll be seeing a friendly face. I know someone that works here already, so that's in my favor. I've gotten callbacks for interviews before, so I know that that means I could get a callback for this one. If I get this job, they will be happy they hired me. And then the last one, which is always going to be true: They are interviewing me, so that means that I already have what it takes on paper. And that's a big one, you guys. If you are getting an interview, it already means something really important, so focus on that. And then once you start focusing on these thoughts instead of the thoughts that I had, like I'm too fat or I'm not good enough or whatever, I started to build up the self-confidence in my head that then reflected and showed how I showed up in the interview. And that reflected the results that I was able to get. There you have it, how to think confidently to get the results you want, including some examples from myself and then some examples of what you might be feeling. And then some things that you can say to yourself to shift yourself into a more confident place. So before I go, I want to share a thought that can ignite your self-confidence even more, and that is, I am more prepared than any other candidate for this interview, therefore I'm going to crush it.
