In this career‑advice video, Natalie Fisher explains why job candidates—especially new graduates—should openly tell hiring managers that they are reviewing other offers. She outlines three core benefits: (1) the ability to leverage competing offers to negotiate a higher salary; (2) signaling that the candidate is in demand, which raises their perceived value to the employer; and (3) a boost in personal confidence that positively influences negotiations. Fisher also cautions that the disclosure must be handled tactfully, referencing a blog post about a candidate who mishandled multiple offers. The video concludes with a call to action for a free video‑training series that teaches outreach, interview value communication, salary conversations, and early‑career promotion strategies.

In this video, you're going to learn 3 reasons why you should share that you're reviewing other offers. I'm Natalie Fisher, and I help new grads kickstart their careers right from the classroom. If you want a job you love in the morning, you are in the right place, so stay tuned. So this is a question I get a lot. Is it okay to tell hiring managers or employers that you're considering other offers? The answer is yes! The first reason why it's a yes: if you're considering other offers, it gives you leverage to negotiate a higher salary. You always want to prioritize the best fit above all else, and I have another video on how to identify the right fit which I'll link to below if you're interested. But when you're considering other offers, you can use these other offers to negotiate a higher salary. Definitely use the offers, even play them off of each other, to get the best possible possible offer for you. It's a great position to be in, and if you do it right, then you will come out ahead. Most people don't know how to handle this, and so they don't get the most out of it. Reason 2, you are showing them that you are a highly sought-after candidate. So basically, your stock is going up when you tell them, hey, I'm being considered for these other positions at this company and this company. And you might not want to share the companies, you can share the industry. Is that I'm being considered for these positions in tech companies. Once they know that you're considering other offers, they instantly become more on top of things, and you instantly become more valuable in their eyes. You're now someone who's in demand, and they'll be willing to work harder to get you working for them, and they might be willing to give you more money if needed. Reason 3: Your confidence goes way up and it shows. So when you're in an enviable position and you have more than one job offer, you'll be feeling pretty good about yourself and those feelings will attract good things your way. However, you need to handle this situation in a way that doesn't put a bad taste in anyone's mouth. And I have a blog about this. It's a very popular blog post of mine and it's about a candidate who handled the situation where he had multiple offers very badly and I'll link to that blog below as well if you want to read about it. But the point is, no one can blame you for negotiating and weighing your options. Anyone would do the same, and I encourage it for my clients too. But the way that you go about it is very, very important. And there we have it— 3 reasons why it's totally fine, even encouraged, to let companies know that you have other offers on the table. If you like what you've learned in this video and you'd like to learn more, I have a free video training series that I invite you to sign up for. So what will you learn in this video training?
