In this concise monologue, Natalie Fisher shares a novel interview‑preparation tactic aimed at lowering personal pressure. She argues that feeling in demand reduces anxiety, and the simplest way to create that sense is to initiate ten new conversations with contacts—former coworkers, managers, or LinkedIn connections—about any topic. These outreach efforts generate alternative opportunities and “seeds” that lessen the stakes of any single interview, often even yielding responses during the interview process itself. Fisher frames this as a quick, guaranteed‑to‑work method that most job seekers haven’t heard. She also promotes her upcoming "Get a Six‑Figure Job and Thrive" podcast, promising four additional unconventional pressure‑relief strategies for interview success.

One super quick way to prepare for your interview that I can pretty much guarantee no one has told you to do. So the, the key to giving a good interview is not feeling pressured, and that means by yourself. So not pressuring yourself into this has to work, this has to— I have to get it right, I have to be perfect, this has to work out, right? And we often put that pressure on ourselves when we don't have anything else going on. And you'll notice that when you do have other things going on, like you have other interviews lined up, or you've got other people to talk to, you will start to feel less pressure. And the way that you show up in your interviews will reflect that. It'll reflect that energy of like, yeah, I'm in demand, I've got lots of stuff going on, it's either this or something better. Even though I might really like this and I might really be enthusiastic about this job, it's gonna be this or something better. So before you have an interview, if you're feeling a lot of pressure, I challenge you to go reach out to 10 people right now. Just reach out for 10 conversations. It can anybody about anything. It could be previous coworkers, previous managers, people you know on LinkedIn that you want to reach out to because you love their content or you would love to just connect with them. And what that's going to do is that's going to put out a whole bunch of other seeds and maybes out there for you so that when you go and do that interview, the pressure is already going to be taken off because you've already got a whole bunch of stuff that you have now set into motion. And when you're interviewing, you might even have people responding to you from those messages. Right? And so you might even have opportunities coming in as you are interviewing. So take the pressure off. That's going to do a world of difference for you. And if you want to hear 4 more ways to take the pressure off your interview, tune in to the podcast.
