Comment if you believe making a shelf like this would improve your mindset and destroy your limiting

Nathan Payne builds a "gain shelf" displaying his achievements, from Boy Scout awards to business accolades, based on the book The Gap and the Gain. The idea is to measure yourself by what you've accomplished rather than what you haven't, shifting your mindset daily.

Real estate investors, I'm on a mission today to create what I'm calling the gain shelf. You're probably wondering, what the heck is a gain shelf? Let me explain. Now, a gain shelf, what that means is there's a book that's called The Gap and the Gain. It means measuring yourself by the things that you've gained, not the gap that you have between the goal you're trying to achieve. So you want to measure yourself by the things that you've gained, the things you've accomplished in your life versus the things that you haven't yet. And that helps you remain positive and always in a state of progress. Now I'm at Desert Industries, which is the Goodwill of Utah. The reason I'm here is because they have some awesome furniture and it's super cheap. It's right by my office and it opens at 9, so I'm about to go in there and see if I can find a bomb shelf. Sometimes a line before it opens just because there's some gems and some treasures and people just run in there and try to grab the best stuff before everyone else can get it. I wonder if someone's going to steal my shelf. This is going to run in there and look for the shelf that I'm looking for. Yo, these aren't going to work. These are old, like, grandma shelves. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about like a slick little metal frame bookshelf. That ain't going to work. Nah, come on. Grandma style, man. I'm looking for that slickness. Here we go. I had to come to Walmart. Right here. That's it. That's the one. It's the metal. It's the metal one. Slick metal, not old wood. Let's do it. Let's see if I can go to my office, make it look dope. I'm not a designer, but let's see. There it is, ladies and gentlemen, the Gap in the Gain shelf. I'll decorate it and then I'll show you what I mean by all this, okay? But there it is, I put them up. Finally got it done. Here is a walk in the life of the Gain of Nathan Payne. Starting with the bottom shelf. This is stuff that I had in middle school, elementary school. These are books I wrote and pan flute that I got when I went to Chile for the first time. Here is when I was in Boy Scouts and I won some awards and my dad kept a bunch of documents of things I accomplished. This is when I started wrestling. I was absolute trash. I did not know what I was doing, but I kept going. Got the Most Improved Award, won a contest, won 4th in state, and then I got it all the way up to 3rd in varsity. And here's a letter my dad wrote saying he thought he was proud of me. This is when I went on my mission for my church. I wrote in a journal every day for 2 years. Got all them right there. A member gave me a hat, and that's my abuelita throwing up the skizzy before I left. These are some physical books I've read. Batch Leads for Life, and there's a Most Improved Award for wholesaling. And here are journals that I've written in so far since I've been back home. Jesus is number one. These are all my planners that I plan my life out with. Fourth grade award for being successful. They said I'd be successful. A hat from Costco I love. Helped a student get his first check. Here we go. MVP ball, played baseball. Books I need to read. Rap battle trophy. Pokémon cards. And something about Jesus. Now every day when I come into work, I'm gonna look at the shelf and say, I can do it.
