Nathan Payne ran his first 5K after never running more than a mile before, finishing in about 24-26 minutes at an 8:40 per mile pace. He got a gold medal at the neighborhood race, though two former track athletes finished in 17-18 minutes.
I'm about to run my first 5K. I've never ran a 5K in my life. I think the most I've ever ran was like a mile, maybe. That's it. 5K, I think that's 3 miles. I'm ready. The neighborhood was invited to run 5K. I've never seen this before, but it's dope. I just did it. I just did my first 5K and they gave me a little gold. Winner. Freaking did it. Let's go.
We're in the lead. Where's the— Go get your medal, my man.
Did it! 5K wasn't too bad. 24 minutes or 26 minutes to do it. Let's go! These two guys right here that run for track team, I guess, in high school, just did a 17-minute 5K and an 18-minute— I think they said they ran each lap was 5:40. 5:40? I was doing like 8:40. I'm out. That was it. I think that's a good workout for the day. Run a 5K, tell me what time you got.
