Nathan Payne spent ages 19 to 21 going door-to-door sharing his faith, waking at 6:30 am and knocking until 9 pm daily. The constant rejection and isolation built the discipline and thick skin that shaped his later success in business.
So I went for 2 years to talk to people about Jesus from 19 years old to 21, and, uh, that was an interesting experience. That's where I kind of got, uh, I would say like thick skin, right? Like, I feel like I was always decent. A lot of door slams. A lot of door slams. Yeah, knocked a lot of doors, talked to a lot of people. Like, I was very— I wasn't to say aggressive, but I was like, I would go out and be like, talk to everybody. That was like my goals. Let me tell everybody about Jesus. And, uh, yeah, it was a good experience. I had a good time, and it's helped me serve me well throughout my life. Because when you're 19 to 21, like, how many kids are going out and not in that kind of environment, like, and talking to random people they don't know and having that life experience? It's actually crazy when I think about it. I'm like, man, that's crazy. 2 years of going out and talking about Jesus. No TV, no movies.
Just right. Because you have to kind of like isolate yourself. You're like a monk almost.
Yeah, you're dialed in. Like 6:30 to 10:30, you wake up 6:30 every day. You study the word of God, you like have your, um, you know, uh, you do like role plays, you talk to your companion, and then after your morning routine, you go out all day and then you come back at 9 and plan the next day. So it's, yeah, it's 2 years of that.
That's a long day. Yeah. It sets you up, sets you up for being able to put in, I guess, long hours if you need to. Where, and where did you do
