A UCI study found that older adults who smelled specific scents while sleeping for six months showed a 220% increase in cognitive performance compared to controls. The olfactory bulb's direct brain connections mean scent during sleep can boost memory consolidation and alertness.

And neuro wellness is becoming much more interesting. UCI had a study, I think it was published, they still have a clinical trial now, but 2 years ago I think they published something where they had older adults sniff or smell aromatherapy sequence over 6 months. And they saw 220% cognitive increase for the cohort that actually had sensory inputs while they sleep, right? So that means your brain is working because it's— it's the olfactory bulb, it goes directly to your neuroscience, neuro networks. And that helps with, again, memory and cognition as you wake up. So there's definitely a link between the quality of your sleep and the brain activity that you have. And the ability for you to stay more alert and have more cognition.
